Work DeposUSA 11-18-80 INTRODUCTION This Directory was designed with the concept that to comprehensively meet the needs of teenagers and to address the problem of unwanted pregnancies, organizations from all areas of service delivery should begin to share expertise and information in developing strategies, and in finding new solutions to the problem. Therefore, this Directory was developed to be a resource for national and local organizations, interested groups and individuals on those organizations concerned about this problem and all other issues affecting our youth today. To make this document as comprehensive as possible, a vast number of organizations from various disciplines (health, social service, education) were invited to participate in the Directory. The Directory only lists those major national organizations with a primary interest in all needs of youth which responded to our request. For the purpose of this Directory these organizations have been divided into two categories, those which provide auxiliary services to their membership and direct service programs. As such, the Directory has two main parts-Direct Service Organizations and Indirect Service Organizations. The organizations included have the capability to reach local community providers through their chapters or national offices, and to share ideas and information in their areas of expertise and program development. |
