Historical method and confessional identity in the era of the reformation (1378-1615)
This work substantially revises existing preconceptions about Reformation attitudes to the Early Church and to History in general. On the basis of much hitherto unstudied material the author shows that Reformation historians and theologians sought to define their confessional identity by recourse to a particular historical method.
