D 17 AULLS' QUIZZER ON THE New York Code of Civil Procedure, (SECOND EDITION) BEING A COMPLETE DIGEST TOUCHING FULLY ON THE IMPORTANT INCLUDING THE Mechanic's Lien Law in effect September 1, 1897, and questions and FOR THE USE OF Students, Justices of the Peace and the TO HON. AMASA J. PARKER, OF THE ALBANY BAR, MANY TIMES A FRIEND IN NEED, THIS VOLUME IS AFFECTIONATELY DEDICATED. PREFACE. With considerable pride and pleasure the author prefaces the second edition of this book. The objects, aims, and scope, as outlined in the first edition, have been largely achieved. Six years of active practice at the Bar has brought a still greater realization that accuracy in legal work is essential. Some errors have been corrected, several of the best Bar examination questions have been added, and the answers, with authorities cited, given. I appreciate the call from lawyers admitted, and from young ones being admitted. If one question or answer in this volume is the means of turning any young man's career toward the profession of law, whereby without that question he would have failed to pass his entrance examination and failed of admission to one of the greatest professions in the world, and the best State Bar, then I am content.
