Canada. S VICTORIA, by the Grace of GOD, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, QUEEN, Defender of the Faith, &c. &c. &c. To Our beloved and faithful the Legislative Councillors of the Province of Canada, and the 26th August, Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses elected to serve in the Legislative Assembly of Our said Province, summoned and called to a meeting of the Provincial Parliament of Our said Province, at Our City of Montreal, on the eighteenth day of July instant, to have been commenced and held, and to every of you,

A PROCLAMATION.

GREETING:

WHEREAS, on the ninth day of June now last past, We thought fit to prorogue Our Provincial Parliament to the eighteenth day of July instant, at which time, in Our City of Montreal, you were held and constrained to appear: Now know ye, that for divers causes and considerations, and taking into consideration the ease and convenience of Our ur loving subjects, We have thought fit, by and with the advice of Our Executive Council, to relieve you, and each of you, of your attendance at the time afore, said; hereby convoking, and by these presents enjoining you, and each of you, that on Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of August now next, you meet Us, in Our Provincial Parliament, in Our City of Montreal, there to take into consideration the state and welfare of Our said Province of Canada, and therein to do as may seem necessary. Herein fail not.

In testimony whereof, We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent, and the Great Seal of Our said Province of Canada to be hereunto affixed: Witness, Our right trusty and right well beloved Cousin, Lieutenant General the Right Honorable Charles Murray, Earl Cathcart, of Cathcart, in the County of Renfrew, K. C. B., Governor General of British North America, and Captain General and Governor in Chief in and over Our Provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and the Island of Prince Edward, and Vice Admiral of the same, and Commander of Our Forces in British North America: At Our Government House, in Our City of Montreal, in Our said Province of Canada, this ninth day of July, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-six, and in the tenth year of Our Reign.

WHEREAS, on the ninth day of July now last past, We thought fit to prorogue Our Provincial, Parliament to the twenty-sixth day of August instant, at which time, in Our City of Montreal, you were held and constrained to appear: Now know ye, that for divers causes and considerations, and taking into consideration the ease and convenience of taking into consideration the case and convenience of Our loving subjects, We have thought fit, by and with the advice of Our Executive Council, to relieve you, and each of you, of your attendance at the time aforesaid; hereby convoking, and by these presents enjoining you, and each of you, that on Monday, the fifth day of the month of October now next, you meet Us, in Our Provincial Parliament, in Our City of Montreal, there to take into consideration the state and welfare of Our said Province of Canada, and therein to do as may seem necessary.-Herein fail
