JANUARY SESSION, 1879.

At a General Assembly of the State of Connecticut, holden at Hartford, in said State, on the Wednesday after the first Monday of January, being the eighth day of said month, and continued until the adjournment thereof, on Friday, the twenty-eighth day of March next following, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine.

CHAPTER I.

An Act concerning the Printing and Engrossing Bills and proposed Amendments to the Constitution.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

SECTION 1. At the beginning of each session of the Bills to be enGeneral Assembly, there shall be appointed a joint standing committee on engrossed bills, consisting of one senator and eight representatives. . All bills and proposed amendments to the constitution, as soon as passed, shall be engrossed in print, under the direction of the secretary, on heavy paper of uniform size, with wide margins; and said committee shall examine all engrossed bills and amendments, and present such public acts as are found correct, first to the speaker of the House of Representatives, Duty of officers and then to the president of the Senate, who shall sign sembly."
