The kind request that I should publish the farewell Sermons addressed to you, affords me an opportunity of presenting you with this little memorial of pastoral affection. Our connection as pastor and flock is now dissolved, but not so, I trust, our feelings of mutual interest and attachment. ten years I have been entrusted with a charge over your immortal souls; and in your temporal and eternal welfare I must ever continue to feel the very deepest interest. God grant that, though separated on earth, we may meet together in heaven!

Many are the ways, my dear friends, which lead to destruction. There is but one that conducts to everlasting happiness. Into that path I have earnestly desired to direct your feet. Those among you who have not yet entered it, I would now again, as for the last time, implore to do so without delay; and those who, by Divine grace, are walking therein, I would entreat to persevere unto the end. The hindrances to our progress are many, and the enemies that oppose our advance are vigilant
