IN the arrangement of the following Selections from Wordsworth, the poems have been placed in the same order as in the “Popular Edition" of 1869, published by Messrs. Moxon, an order which originated with the poet himself, and which is partly classificatory and partly chronological. The text of editions published previous to 1833 has been retained, and subsequent alterations, where they have appeared worthy of remark, have been mentioned in the notes. The numbers at the end of each poem refer to the date of its composition. |
