An act to enable Everard Penrose, who was trustee for Margaret Fortman, deceased, to convey a certain tract of land.' An act granting a bounty to certain volunteers and militia of this state.' An act confirming the titles of Henry Shroeder, David Scott and Hugh Mulholland to certain lots of land therein mentioned.' An act for the relief of Charles Tipper, an old soldier.' An act for the relief of the Hospital at New Orleans, and of the Pennsylvania Hospital.' And informed, That the House of Representatives have passed said bills the six first without and the last with amendments, in which the concurrence of Senate is requested. The amendments by the House of Representatives to the bill, entitled An act for the relief of the Hospital at New Orleans, and of the Pennsylvania Hospital,' were read as follow, viz. 'An act relating to the sale of a tract of land by the sheriff of Greene county to William T. Hays, in trust for the use of the commonwealth,' 'An act assenting to a purchase made by the United States of a piece of land near Pittsburg.' An act to continue and revive the act, entitled, an act to encourage the warranting and patenting of lands north and west of the rivers Ohio and Allegheny and Conewango creek, and for other purposes." An act making appropriation to defray certain expences of government therein mentioned.' An act vesting the superintendant of police of the district of Southwark, and the superintendant of police of the incorporated district of the Northern Liberties, with powers similar to those granted at present by law to the constables of said districts." 'An act relative to the incorporation of a company for erecting a bridge over the river Delaware at Columbia Glass Manufactory.' A supplement to an act, entitled, An act to incorporate an academy or public school in the town of Waterford, and for other purposes.' An act establishing an academy in the borough of Huntingdon, in the county of Huntingdon, and one in the town of Montrose in the county of Susquehanna.' 'An act establishing certain election districts.' An act further to extend for a limited time the act, entitled, an act providing for the settlement of certain disputed titles to lands north and west of the rivers Ohio and Allegheny, and Conewango creek, and for other purposes.' An act to enable the executors of Walter Clark, to convey a certain tract of land.' An act for the relief of sundry old soldiers, and other persons.' Also, Resolution directing the Secretary of the Commonwealth to forward to each member of the present legislature, one copy of the pamphlet laws, one copy of the journals, and one copy of Roberts' edition of the British statutes." The clerk of the House of Representatives being introduced, informed, that the House of Representatives have concurred in all the amendments by Senate, to the amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill, entitled A supplement to the act, entitled, an act for the regulation of the militia of this commonwealth.' And that the have receded from all their amendments non-concurred in by Senate to said bill, except the following, viz. Strike out section 8, as printed, in which amendment the House of Representatives insist. He further informed, That the House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments by Senate, to the bill, entitled A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to authorize the Governor of this commonwealth to incorporate a company for the purpose of making and erecting a bridge and road over the north. east branch of the river Susquehanna in the county of Northumberland, from the public highway opposite the plantation of Thomas Grant to Shamokin Island, through the public highway of Shamokin Island to the shore opposite Northumberland, and from thence to the town of Northumberland.' And have concurred in the amendments by Senate, to the amendments by the House of Representatives, to the bill from Senate, entitled An act to authorize the settlement of certain accounts of William Hamilton, late a lieutenant colonel in the service of the United States." A motion was made by Mr. Reed and Mr. McFarland, That Senate recede from their non-concurrence in the amend, ment by the House of Representatives, to the bill entitled, A supplement to the act, entitled, an act for the regulation of the militia of this commonwealth,' insisted on by that house, and On the question, Will Senate recede ? It was determined in the affirmative. Ordered, That the clerk inform the House of Representatives, accordingly. On motion of Mr. Frailey and Mr. Reed, The Senate adjourned until half past 7 o'clock, this evening. SAME EVENING. Mr, Lane, asked and obtained leave to withdraw from the files of the present session, the documents in support of the claim of Benjamin Jennings. A motion was made by Mr. Reed and Mr. Beale, and read as follows, to wit. Resolved by the Senate and House of Representativs of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, That the Secretary of the Commonwealth be, and he is hereby authorized and required, to cause the act entitled,A supplement to an act, entitled, an act for the regulation of the militia of this commonwealth,' to be printed in pamphlet form, on good paper, and transmit to the brigade inspectors of the several brigades in this commonwealth, a number of said pamphlets, equal to the number of colonels, lieutenant colonels, majors and captains in each brigade; and the several brigade inspectors on receiving the same, shall distribute one copy to each of the officers aforesaid, which officers shall respectively deliver the same to their successors in office; and the secretary shall also transmit two copies to the adjutant general, one copy to each major general and each brigadier general, and one copy to each brigade inspector. The expences of the printing and transmission of said pamphlets, to be paid by the State Treasurer in the usual manner. On motion, Said resolution was again read, considered and adopted. On motion, The joint rule which prevents the transmission of bills or resolutions, in the nature of bills, between the two houses during the four last days of the session, being in this case dispensed with, Ordered, That the clerk present said resolution to the House of Representatives for concurrence.
