He informed,

That the House of Representatives have concurred in the amendments by Senate, to the bills, entitled as follow, viz.

'A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to authorize the Governor to incorporate a company for erecting a bridge over the west branch of the river Susquehanna, from the east end of Market street in the town of Lewisburg in the county of Union, to the opposite shore.'

'An act to enable the Governor to subscribe to a certain num. ber of shares in the stock of certain turnpike companies.' 'An act for holding special courts of common pleas.'

The bills presented for concurrence were read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Reed and Mr. Lowrie,

The Senate resumed the third reading and consideration of the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

A further supplement to an act, entitled, an act to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Harrisburg through Lewistown and Huntingdon to Pittsburg,' postponed for the present on the 26th February.

The questiong recurring,

It was determined in the affirmative.

Ordered, That the clerk return said bill to the House of Representatives with information, that Senate have passed the same with amendments, in which the concurrence of that house is requested.

The bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act to provide for the erection of two arsenals,' was read the second time as reported by a committee of the whole yesterday.

Section 1. being under consideration,

A motion was made by Mr. Lowrie and Mr. Power,

To strike from lines 5 and 6, the words at Meadville in the county of Crawford,' and insert in lieu thereof the words on such part of the public ground adjoining the town of Allegheny in the county of Allegheny, as the Governor shall direct,' and

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Smith in the chair, on the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

• An act authorizing the Secretary of the Land Office to issue a patent to Amos Judson, for an in lot in the town of Waterford in Erie county.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill as committed.

An act vesting the title of a certain piece of land in Bethel township, and county of Bedford, in certain trustees and their successors, for the use of the Baptist congregation in said township.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported the same with amendments. On motion,

Said bill was read the second time, considered by section and agreed to, and

Ordered, That it be prepared for a third reading.

The Senate resolved itself into a committee of the whole, Mr. Baily in the chair, on the bill, entitled

An act affording relief to persons employed in trade from Pennsylvania, attacked by disease at New Orleans.'

And after some time,

The committee rose and reported said bill with amendments. A motion was made by Mr. Maghee and Mr. Jarrett, they having voted in the majority,

To re-consider the vote negativing on Monday last, the bill from the House of Representatives, entitled

An act authorizing the purchase of a certain number of copies of the work of Samuel Roberts on the British statutes in force in Pennsylvania.'

On the question,

Will Senate agree to re-consider?

It was determined in the affirmative.

Whereupon, on motion,

The further consideration of said bill was postponed for the present.

Mr. Frailey presented a petition and document from George Dell, an old soldier, stating his services and sufferings, and praying relief.

Which was read and referred to the committee on claims.

Mr. Morgan presented a pétition from Gideon Olmsted, praying to be authorized to commence and prosecute a suit against the

commonwealth, for the recovery of such part of the proceeds of the sloop Active and her cargo as he conceives himself to be entitled to; and

Said petition was read and referred to Mr. Morgan, Mr. M'Farland, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Murray and Mr. Power.

Mr. I. Weaver from the committee on claims, to whom was referred the petition of Nicholas Neligh, lieut. colonel of the 118th regiment of Pennsylvania militia-praying compensation for the time he and his staff were in service in the year 1814, when called to the defence of Philadelphia and the shores of the Delaware, (they becoming supernumerary by the consolidation of his regiment with that of col. Hutters)-being five weeks service until they returned home, made report, which was read as follows, to wit.

That no documents accompanying the petition, and it being near the final adjournment of the legislature, offer the following resolution:

Resolved, That the petition be dismissed.

Mr. M.Sherry from the committee appointed for the purpose, made further report in part, which was read as follows, to wit.

That in conjunction with a similar committee from the House of Representatives, they have compared, and on the 7th inst. presented to the Governor for his approbation, the bills, entitled as follow, viz.

An act to erect the town of Indiana in the county of Indiana, into a borough.'

• An additional supplement to an act, entitled, an act authorizing the Governor to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from the bank of the river Susquehanna opposite Harrisburg to Pittsburg.'

An act to provide for the election of a constable in the borough of Columbia, in the county of Lancaster."

An act making an appropriation for the erection of piers in the river Delaware, at the borough of Chester, in Delaware county."

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to enable the Governor to incorporate a company to make an artificial road by the best and nearest route from the west end of the borough of York, to the borough of Gettysburg in the county of Adams.'

An act to authorize George Eisenhuth, George Orwig, John Orwig and Jacob Orwig, to dig, establish and support a mill race on the north side of Penn's creek near the town of New Berlin, in the county of Union.'

An act providing for the sale of the State House and State House square in the city of Philadelphia. Also

A resolution for furnishing certain members of the legislature and others, with one copy each of Smith's edition of the laws. The bill, entitled

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act for the regulation of the militia of this commonwealth,' was read the third time, and
