with reference to the care, treatment and control of dependent, neglected, incorrigible and delinquent children under the age of sixteen years, and providing for the means in which such power may be exercised,' approved the twenty-third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and three, pamphlet laws page two hundred and seventyfour, prohibiting magistrates, aldermen or justices of the peace from sentencing or committing for trial for any offenses dependent, neglected, incorrigible or delinquent children under the age of sixteen years, and providing for the disposition of such children by the juvenile courts, providing that the jurisdiction of such courts over children committed by them shall continue notwithstanding such children may remove or be removed from the territorial limits of such courts, authorizing the said courts to commit such children in proper cases to the custody of their mothers to be maintained in their respective homes, and providing for the payment of the cost of such maintenance by the proper county, prescribing the duties of probation officers in such cases, and authorizing the several juvenile courts to employ medical experts in certain cases."
