Mr. Morgan presented a petition from Peter Pedersen, a subject of the kingdom of Denmark, stating that owing to his official situation it is not in his power to become a citizen of the United States, and praying that he may be authorized to purchase and hold in fee simple, real estate within this commonwealth; and The same was read and laid on the table. On motion of Mr. Erwin and Mr. Lowrie, Ordered, That so much of the governor's message of yesterday as relates to the navigation of the river Delaware, be referred to a committee, and That Mr. Erwin, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Rogers, Mr. Jarrett and Mr. Shoemaker be the committee. An act relative to the building of certain bridges over the Monongahela and Allegheny rivers opposite Pittsburg.' An act granting a sum of money to aid in removing obstructions out of Sheerman's creek.' • An act for the relief of John Thompson.' The amendment by the House of Representatives, to the bill, entitled A further supplement to the act, entitled, an act to enable the governor to incorporate a company for making a turnpike road from Middletown to Harrisburg,' was read as follows, viz. 6 Sect. 1. line 5, strike out the word said' and after company' insert for making a turnpike road from Middletown to Harrisburg.'
