PORT AND HARBOR FACILITIES 19 STORAGE WAREHOUSES Owing to the nature of the traffic moving into and out of Honolulu, there is no need for extensive storage space for export commodities. Sugar for shipment is stored in the sugar storehouses operated by the Oahu Railway & Land Co. behind piers 19 and 20. These storehouses have a total floor space aggregating 56,196 square feet and can accommodate 15,000 tons of raw sugar. In addition to the space in the sugar storehouses, warehouse space for storing general cargo is available totaling about 572,500 square feet or 6,407,000 cubic feet. Cold-storage space of a little more than 601,500 cubic feet is available. The storage facilities are further described in the following table: |
