Then a break-down of those who took the examination and a break-down by States of those who were placed on the register of eligibles, and a break-down of those who were appointed from that register of eligibles since you started? Mr. FAHY. The register is not quite complete yet; the register will be completed about the 1st of February. Mr. STARNES. What have you been doing about appointing attorneys since? Mr. FAHY. We have been appointing them on noncompetitive examinations, pending the setting up of the register. LEGAL RESIDENCE OF PERSONS APPROVED FOR APPOINTMENT Mr. STARNES. I think it would be quite interesting to have a break-down of those appointments pending the set-up of your register, by States. Mr. FAHY. Yes. 1 Including four positions not under the Classification Act of 1923. Mr. FITZPATRICK. Would it be asking too much to place in the record the questions asked at this examination? Mr. FAHY. We can give you a copy of this examination; yes. Mr. FITZPATRICK. I have heard a good deal about it, and I would like to see it. LAW SCHOOLS OF PERSONS APPROVED FOR APPOINTMENT Mr. CASE. Has there been any data kept in regard to the schools from which these applicants came, and the tables that Mr. Flemming and others provide each year, and which were placed in the record the last time can they be brought down to date? |
