Gentlemen: I have the honor to present to you this my Annual Report for the year ending December 31st, 1907, concerning the affairs and condition of the "Old Folks Home" Ashley River Asylum. I am pleased to say that the Institution is in an A-I condition, needed improvements have been made to the grounds and buildings, and everything pertaining to the Institution has been kept up to its usual standard of excellence. We again take pleasure in commending the services of both the Steward and Matron, they have continued in the discharge of their duties, faithful to every trust. The attending dispensary physicians have given every attention to the inmates. To the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands: Gentlemen: I herewith hand you my report of the Financial condition of the "Ashley River Asylum" for year ending December 31st, 1907. Officially I beg to report to the Board that I collected the following amounts and turned same over to the City Treas REPORT OF SEWER COMMISSIONERS January 2d, 1908. Board of Street Commissioners, Charleston, S. C. Gentlemen: The thirteenth Annual Report of the Sewer Department covering the work during 1907 is now before you. The completed section of the sewerage system has been operated during the year and the plant kept in good order at an expenditure of nearly $500.00 less than that of last year. No additions have been made to the main sewers and compared with previous years, there has been a marked decrease in the number of new connections. Under instructions from the Board, an electrically driven centrifugal pump has been ordered after due advertisement and will soon be installed to replace the Shone ejectors at the corner of Water and Church Streets.
