M., and was called to order by Senator Donnan, who nominated Senator Whaley of Butler county temporary President of the Senate, which motion the Senate ratified and Senator Whaley took the chair. Prayer by Rev. W. J. Young. On motion of Senator Sutton, E. R. Hutchins of Polk county was elected temporary Secretary.
