SECTION 11. It shall be the duty of the treasurer of the said com- Treasurer's duties pany at the annual meeting provided for in the fifth section, to exhibit in detail the condition of the finances of said company, and the names of the person or persons to whom the funds of the company have been loaned; and it shall also be the duty of the said treasurer and the secretary of said company, at the annual meeting aforesaid, or whenever, at any other time, a majority of the board of directors shall require the same, to produce all such books and papers appertaining to the business of said company.

SECTION 12. The seven persons first named in the first section of First board of this act, shall constitute the board of directors of said institution, until directors. the last Saturday of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-four, or until others are elected in their stead.

SUPPLEMENT

To an act, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Farmers' and Mechanics' mutual insurance association of Bucks county."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the seventh section of the act, entitled "An Act to incorporate the Inde- Repeal of former pendent mutual fire insurance company of Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties," passed the tenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, so far as it relates to and affects the Farmers' and Mechanics' mutual insurance association of Bucks county, incorporated by act passed the twenty-fourth of March, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. In lieu of the mode provided by the sixth and other sections of the said act, passed the tenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and forty-three, providing for the recovery of the rates

Payment of proor proportionable parts of rates of insurance, so far as relates to the portionable rates. said Farmers' and Mechanics' mutual insurance association of Bucks county, it is hereby enacted, that in default of payment thereof, it shall and may be lawful for the president and managers to proceed and collect the same, in like manner as common debts are now collected; and any person or persons, refusing to pay his, her or their proportionable parts of such rates, may, by the managers, for the time being, be excluded and debarred from any benefit or advantage from his, her or their insurances, respectively, and all right to the stock of this company; and shall, notwithstanding, be liable to said rates, pursuant to his, her or their covenants and agreements.

SECTION 3. The power of the association shall be vested in the following officers, viz: A president, secretary, treasurer, five surveyors and five directors, to be elected by ballot annually, on the last Monday of May, at which time the annual meetings of the association shall be held; the directors, together with the president and secretary, shall form a board of managers, for the transaction of the business of the association.

AN ACT

Relating to various turnpike and bridge companies in this commonwealth.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That in all cases where by virtue of any act of assembly, the stock owned by the commonwealth in any turnpike road or bridge company, has been sold to any person or persons, the said holders of the stock, whether holding the same in their own right or in a fiduciary capacity, shall be entitled to the same number of votes as the original stockholders in said turnpike road and bridge companies are entitled to.

AN ACT

To authorize Peter Maison to sell and convey certain real estate.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Peter Maison, trustee of the estate of Ann Eliza Hanson, be and is hereby authorized to sell at public or private sale, as he may deem most advantageous, all or any part of the estate and premises, granted and conveyed by John A. Maison to John Miller and John Weiss, by deed dated the twenty-third day of July, Anno Domini, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-five, recorded in the office of the recorder of deeds at Philadelphia, in deed book G. W. R., number ten, page five hundred and seventy-five, in trust for certain uses and purposes therein set forth, and to make and execute a good and sufficient deed or deeds, to the purchaser or purchasers thereof, in fee simple, altogether discharged from the trusts of the said deed of John A. Maison to John Miller and John Weiss, and from any obligation on the part of the said purchaser or purchasers, to see to the application of the purchase money: Provided, That before the said Peter Maison shall make or execute any such deed, he shall give security in the court of common pleas of Philadelphia county, to be approved by the said court, conditioned for the investment of the proceeds of the said sales, by the said Peter Maison, in such other securities as the said court shall approve, on the same trusts as are set forth in the said deed of John A. Maison to John Miller and John Weiss.

To authorize Jacob Cline to convey certain real estate.

WHEREAS, The heirs at law of George Foulks, late of the county of Preamble. Beaver, deceased, have made a distribution and partition of the estate, real and personal, of the said George Foulks, within the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, whereby the portion and purpart of William Foulks, a lunatic and a resident of the latter state, have been placed in the hands

of Jacob Cline, his committee, appointed by the court of common pleas of Richland county, in the state of Ohio, and certain purparts of the real estate of the said George Foulks, laying within this commonwealth, set off to certain of the said heirs: And whereas, From the lunacy of the said William Foulks, and the want of power and authority of the said Jacob Cline to convey to the parties, to whom the said purparts in this commonwealth have been set off, the said partition may be endangered; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Jacob Cline, committee of William Foulks, late of Richland county, state of Ohio, appointed under the authority aforesaid, be and is hereby authorized and fully empowered to grant, assign, release and confirm. and by proper deeds, duly executed, to convey and assign, to Alfred Foulks, in his own right and as assignee of William Fanon and Sophronia, his wife, late Sophronia Foulks, and to his heirs and assigns in fee, all the estate, right and title of the said William Foulks, of, in and to a tract of land containing one hundred and seventy-nine acres, or thereabouts, situate in Little Beaver township, Beaver county, adjoining lands of John Booth, Mathew Elder, heirs of Huffman and others; to Dorcas Foulks, Nancy Foulks and Louisa Foulks, their heirs and assigns, in fee, all the estate, right and title of the said William Foulks, of, in and to a tract of land, containing two hundred and twenty-nine acres, or thereabouts, situate in Little Beaver and South Beaver township, Beaver county, adjoining lands of Mathew Elder, George Huffman. Jacob Cline, Jonathan Morris and others; to Jacob Cline and Elizabeth, his wife, and George Huffman and Charlotte, his wife, in rights of the said Elizabeth and Charlotte, their heirs and assigns respectively, in fee, all the estate, right and title of the said William Foulks, of, in and to a tract of land situate in Little Beaver township, containing one hundred and seventy-eight acres, or thereabouts, adjoining the last mentioned tract and land of Jonathan Morris. William Elder M'Ilroy, and others: Provided, That before the deeds are delivered, the said Jacob Cline shall present his petition to the court of common pleas of Beaver county, setting forth the premises; whereupon the said court shall make such order as they may deem proper to protect the interest of the parties, and if necessary, require security to be given by the said Jacob Cline. AN ACT

For the benefit of Bridget Trucks.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the state treasurer is hereby authorized and required to pay to Bridget Trucks, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, for timber furnished by George Trucks, deceased, husband of the said Bridget, for the use of the commonwealth, on the Western division of the Pennsylvania canal: Provided, That this act shall be deemed and taken to be a full satisfaction of all claims and demands whatsoever, due by the commonwealth, to the estate of the said George Trucks, deceased, on any account whatever. To authorize the incorporation of a company to erect a bridge over the Kiskiminetas river, at or near Warren, Armstrong county.
