5 And be it Enacted, That the Commissioner acting in execution of this Act, and the Assistant Commissioner under this Act, shall have power and authority, and are hereby empowered and authorized from time to time to administer an oath to any person who shall at any time give him or them information, or be examined of or concerning any matter or thing relating to the execution of this Act, or in any way concerning the several powers and trusts in him and them hereby reposed, and the due execution thereof. And be it Enacted, That this Act shall extend only to lands and 10 hereditaments situate within that part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland called Ireland; and that it shall not authorize the redemption, purchase or exchange of fee-farm rent or other annual sum payable to any ecclesiastical person or corporation, or to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for Ireland, or to any corporation 15 aggregate. 72.
