ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The National Council on Family Relations is a membership organization of professionals and lay persons interested in the areas of family education, counseling, research and action oriented programs. The goal of the organization is to coordinate the efforts of their constituency in establishing: professional standards, promotion of educational efforts, encouragement of research, extension of community services for families and the fostering of sound and coherent government policies pertaining to families.

REGIONAL OR STATE OFFICES: There are no permanent regional offices, but there are eleven regional representatives. For regional representatives information, contact the headquarters in Minnesota.

PUBLICATIONS INCLUDE: The Journal of Marriage and Family, The Family Coordinator, The Journal of Family History, and a quarterly newsletter.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The goal of the National Council for Homemaker-Home Health Aide Service, Inc., is to provide services in the homes of families in times of crisis or illness. The organization works with other national health and welfare organizations to promote the development of standards for homemaker health aide services; and encourages and assists communities in developing and organizing services for families in crisis situations. The organization is also a member of the Juvenile Justice Collaboration Program, sponsored by the National Assembly of Voluntary Health and Social Welfare Organizations, Inc.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The overall purpose of the National Education Association is to elevate the character and advancement of the profession of teaching and to promote the cause of education in the United States. The NEA is a professional organization of teachers, professors, educational administrators and others interested in education. The NEA Representative Assembly has put itself on record for supporting population education in all grades and subjects in public schools.

REGIONAL OR STATE OFFICES: There are 53 state level affiliates and 1,300 local chapters. A directory of these affiliates is available through the national headquarters in Washington, D.C.

PUBLICATIONS INCLUDE: Today's Education, a quarterly Journal and the NEA Reporter, 8 issues annually.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association, Inc. is a non-profit membership organization of individuals employed by or interested in family planning and reproductive health, councils and free standing clinics, private physicians, research groups, international programs and consumers. The goal of the organization is to expand and improve the delivery of family planning and reproductive health services. To achieve its goal the organization offers a variety of services to its membership which include an annual meeting, technical assistance workshops and conferences, a communication network and legislative monitoring.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The overall mission of the National Foundation - March of Dimes is the prevention of birth defects. Toward this goal the Foundation supports basic and clinical research programs, medical services, public and professional health education. In addition to many programs sponsored by local March of Dimes Chapters, the National headquarters sponsors seminars and conferences on parenting, nutrition education programs, school health education programs, professional education programs, and prenatal care programs. In recognizing the serious problem of adolescent pregnancy and the need to educate teenagers, parents and school officials, the Foundation recently introduced two national programs on parenting education: "Preparenthood Education Program", developed by the Bank Street College of Education in New York and "Starting a Healthy Family", developed by the Educational Development Center in Newton, Massachusetts.

PUBLICATIONS INCLUDE: Public Health Education materials on Birth Defects and Prenatal Care. A catalog which describes the numerous publications by the March of Dimes is available through the Public Health Education Division at the headquarters.
