II. And be it further enacted, That an A&t made in the Fif first Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled An for repealing the Duty on the Materials used in making Flint as March 25, 1818. Phial Glafs, and for granting, until the First Day of Auguft O thoufand eight hundred and twelve, other Duties in lieu thereof; a for continuing and amending an Ad passed in the Forty ninth Year His Majefty's Reign, intituled An Ad for repealing the Duties on t Materials used in making Spread Window Glass and Crown Gla and for granting other Duties in lieu thereof, and for the better Co lection of the faid Duties; which was by an Act made in the Fift C fecond Year of the Reign aforefaid continued until the First Day c August One thoufand eight hundred and thirteen; and by another Ac made in the Fifty third Year of the Reign aforefaid further continue until the First Day of August One thousand eight hundred and four teen; and by another Act made in the Fifty fourth Year of th Reign aforefaid further continued until the First Day of August On thoufand eight hundred and fifteen; shall be and the fame is hereb revived and further continued, and shall be, remain and continue i force from the faid Firft Day of August One thousand eight hundred and fifteen until the Twenty fifth Day of March One thoufan eight hundred and eighteen; and that all and fingular the Dutie thereby imposed and made payable fhall from the faid First Day o Auguft One thousand eight hundred and fifteen, until the said Twenty fifth Day of March One thoufand eight hundred and eighteen, b payable, and be raised, levied, collected and paid, as directed in and by the faid Act as if the fame had never expired.

An Act to revive and further continue, until the Twenty fifth Day of March One thousand eight hundred and feventeen, an Act of the Seventh Year of King George the Second, for the free Importation of Cochineal and Indigo.

WHEREAS an Act was made in the Seventh Year of the

Reign of His late Majefty King George the Second, intituled An Ad for the Revival of an A& made in the Thirteenth Year of the Reign of His late Majefly King George the Firft, intituled An Ad for the free Importation of Cochineal during the Time ⚫ therein limited, and alfo for the free Importation of Indigo; which was to continue in force from the Twenty fourth Day of June One thoufand feven hundred and thirty four, for the Term of Seven Years, and from thence to the End of the then next Seffion of Parliament; and which by several subsequent Acts was further continued from the Expiration thereof until the Twenty fifth Day of March One thoufand eight hundred and fourteen: And Whereas

An Act for continuing to His Majefty certain Duties on Malt, Sugar, Tobacco and Snuff, in Great Britain; and on Penfons, Offices and Perfonal Eftates, in England; for the Service of the Year One thousand eight hundred and fixteen. [4th March 1816.]

E, Your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and 'Ireland, in Parliament affembled, towards raifing the neceffary Supplies to defray Your Majefty's public Expences, have freely and voluntarily refolved to give and grant unto Your Majefty, the Rates, Duties and Impofitions hereinafter mentioned;' And do moft humbly befeech Your Majefty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament affembled, and by the Autho

II. And be it further enacted, That within and throughout that Duties to be Part of the Kingdom of Great Britain called Scotland, there fhall paid in Scotland be raised, levied, collected, paid and fatisfied, unto and for the Ufe for Malt.

the Duty hereinafter mentioned, (that is to fay): For and upc every Bushel of Malt which at any time or times from and afte the Twenty third Day of June One thousand eight hundred and fix teen, and before the Twenty fourth Day of June One thousand eigh hundred and feventeen, shall be made of Barley or any other Coral or Grain in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, by any Perma fon or Perfons whatsoever (whether the fame fhall be or not be fo Sale) the Sum of Three pence, and fo proportionably for a greater o lefs Quantity, to be paid by the Maker or Makers thereof respecte ively.

III. And be it further enacted, That the said several and respective on Malt fhall be Duties by this Act granted and continued refpectively, until the Twenty fourth Day of June One thousand eight hundred and feven teen, fhall be raised, levied, collected and paid unto His Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, during the Time and Term aforefaid, by the fame Ways, Means and Methods, and by fuch Rules and Directions, and with fuch and the like Allowances and Repayments proportionably, and under fuch Penalties and Forfeitures, and with fuch Power of Mitigation and other Powers, in all refpects, not otherwife directed by this Act, as are prescribed, mentioned or expreffed in the faid former Act, or in any other A&t or Acts of Parliament thereby referred unto, or any of them, for or concerning the Duties by them or any of them granted or continued, or by any Former Acts in other Act or Acts of Parliament now in force relating to the raifing, levying, collecting, fecuring and managing fuch Duties; and that the fame Act formerly made and paffed, and the faid other Acts hereby referred unto, as for and concerning the faid Duties upon Malt, and every Article, Rule, Claufe, Matter and Thing in them or any of them contained, or thereby referred unto, and now being in force, and not otherwife altered by this Act, fhall be and continue in force and effect, to all Intents and Purposes, for raifing, levying, collecting, fecuring and accounting for the Rates, Duties and Impofitions hereby granted and continued refpectively, and for levying and recovering the Penalties and Forfeitures, and making any Mitigations and proportional Allowances, and all other Matters and Things during the Continuance of this Act, as fully as if the fame were particularly and at large repeated in the Body of this prefent A&t; fave and except as to fo much of the faid Acts or either of them, herein mentioned or referred unto, as gave Power to the Commif fioners of Excife, or to any other Perfon or Perfons therein named, in England and Scotland refpectively, to compound and agree with any Perfon or Perfons for the Duties of fuch Malt which should grow due or payable from him, her or them, by the said Acts or either of them; any Thing hereinbefore contained to the contrary notwithftanding.

Save as to compounding for Duties.

For raising a certain Sum of Money in Scotland; and in cafe of Defi

ciency an additional Duty to be made.

IV. And Whereas it is the true Intent and Meaning of this prefent Act, that the full and entire Sum of Twenty thousand • Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain, clear of all Charges and Expences of Management and Collection, fhall be raised out of that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, for the Service of the Year One thousand eight hundred and fixteen, by a Malt Tax to be • raised and levied as in England, by a Duty of Three pence per Bufhel on all Malt made and confumed in Scotland; and in case ⚫ the faid Duty of Three pence per Bufhel upon Malt to be charged
