About the author (1988)

Peter A. Clayton is an archaeologist who has excavated sites in Egypt and England. He edits "Minerva: The International Review of Ancient Art and Archaeology.

Price was Deputy Keeper of the Department of Coins and Medals in the British Museum and, at the time of his early death, he was Director of the British School of Archaeology in Athens.
