I don’t know what I was expecting? Whatever it was, it wasn’t the delightful dark romp that was this tale, and I’m so glad I chose it! Libba Bray narrated it herself, and she did so brilliantly. I ... Read full review

This book was highly entertaining, with engaging, enjoyable characters. Though the end was satisfying, its in-your-face empowerment was annoying. Read full review

Fantastic satire on beauty pageants, reality TV, scripted TV, and American politics. I listened to the audiobook version, and, holy cow did it ever deserve its Audie award. It's narrated by the author ... Read full review

This book's reality and beauty is astounding. It's amazing that she fit so much ugly truth into such a pretty and simple package. This book is the embodiment of society's desires. The way Libba Bray articulates the horrors of being a female in this screwed up and magazine-driven world is magnificent and as true and satirical it is, you can't help wishing it weren't. Bray has brought light to a world that is often made trivial with a comedic flavor. I recommend this to anyone who is literate enough to read it.
