English Episcopal Acta: Norwich, 1070-1214
Christopher Harper-Bill, David Michael Smith, British Academy
Published for the British Academy by the Oxford University Press, Nov 22, 1990 - History - 528 pages
The 400-plus acta recorded in this volume, 170 of which have never been printed before, form an important archive for the study of the seven bishops that presided in the period from 1070-1214. Harper-Bill includes an introduction that briefly discusses the careers of the bishops, their familia, and the contents of the acta and matters of diplomatic interest; and appendices that list references to acts possibly recorded in written instruments and to the bishops' itineraries.
