SEC. 29. SEC. 30. That a sum not exceeding forty thousand dollars, be appropriated to the improvement of Rock- Rockcastle ricastle river, from its mouth upwards, under the direction of the board of internal improvement: Provided, That the board of internal improvement shall believe said improvements expedient and of sufficient public importance: but if said board shall deem it inexpedient, they shall cause the same to be expended in the construction of that part of the turnpike roads and bridges between the Crab Orchard and Cumberland Gap, and the turnpike road from Richmond to the Cumberland Gap, through London in Laurel county, which is common to both roads.

SEC. 31. bridge across Licking river, at West Liberty, and the residue to the improvement of such necessary roads in the respective counties as the county court of such county shall designate, which said improvement shall be constructed under the direction of said board by their engineer or other agent; and when the county court of Grayson, by subscription or levy upon the citizens of said county of Grayson, shall raise and pay the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, the clerk of said county, may certify the same to the board of internal improvement, whereupon the said board of internal improvement shall pay over to some person authorised by the county court to re$500 to ceive the same, the sum of five hundred dollars, for Grayson. every two hundred and fifty dollars which may be thus raised and paid over, to be applied to the improvement of that part of the state road from the mouth of Salt river to Bowlinggreen, which lies in the county of Grayson, commencing in Litchfield and appropriated in the direction to the mouth of Salt river.

SEC. 33. That the board of internal improvement, as soon as may be, shall cause a survey to be made report made of Green river, from the mouth of Big Barren river to Liberty, in Casey county, embracing in said survey, Nolin river and other tributary streams, and report the practicability, importance and utility of improving the navigation of the same, what mode of improvement, and what will be the probable cost for such improvement, and to what point of said streams, useful and profitable improvement can be carried:Provided, however, Said board shall be, and they are hereby authorized to expend, or cause to be expended, a sum not exceeding three thousand dollars, to $3,000 to the improvement of Nolin river, either in removing natural obstructions or mill dams by the consent of the owners, or building slopes to mill dams on said stream: Provided, That the said board shall be sat

SEC. 34. That the sum of two thousand five hundred dollars, be appropriated out of the proceeds of the sale of the scrip of the state, to be applied under the direction of the board of internal improvement, to the improvement of the navigation of Trade-water, in addition to an appropriation of a like sum made to said stream, by an act for the internal improvement of the state of Kentucky, approved twenty-eighth of February, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-five: Provided, however, That the board hereby created, shall have full power and authority to withhold or refuse any of the specific appropriations in this act mentioned, if they shall be of the opinion, after examination and duly considering the subject, that it would not be to the interest of the state to carry such specific appropriation into effect: And provided further, That whenever the said board shall refuse or withhold any specific appropriation viso. as contained in this act, it shall be their duty to report their reasons for so doing to the legislature, during the first week of the next session thereafter; except the subscription to the Lexington and Ohio rail road, which shall be absolute.

SEC. 35. cannot be advantageously expended and employed in improving the navigation of said streams, it shall be the duty of the board of internal improvements, to order the same to be subscribed and expended in the construction of turnpike roads, crossing said streams within that section, where the improvement of the navigation of said streams was contemplated. CHAP. 374.-AN ACT to incorporate the Georgetown Accommodation Company.

Whereas, a number of the citizens of Georgetown, Kentucky, have petitioned this legislature, representing that an extensive house of public entertainment is necessary in Georgetown, for the accommodation of travellers and others: Therefore,

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, That a company shall be, and the same is hereby incorporated, by the name and style of the "Georgetown Public Accommodation Company," with a capital of thirty thousand dollars, divided into three hundred shares of one hundred dollars each, for the purpose of purchasing grounds, improved or unimproved, and for building or extending buildings, to be used as a house of public enter

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That R. M. Ewing, Henry Johnson, Charles Buford, S. F. Gano, and Milus W. Dickey, be, and are hereby appointed commissioners to open books of subscription for the capital stock of said company, on any day they may appoint to meet for that purpose, at the Village Mansion, in February or March, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-six; and when one hundred and fifty shares or more, of one hundred dollars each, are subscribed and paid or secured to be paid, either in money or property, to the satisfaction of said commissions, then said Ewing, Johnson, Buford, Gano, and Dickey, their successors and assigns, shall be, and they are hereby created a body politic and corporate forever, by the name of the President, Directors and Company of the "Georgetown Public Accommodation Company," and by that name and style, it shall Corporate be lawful for them to contract and be contracted with, to sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded, as
