LETTERS

O F

HENRY EARL OF CLARENDON.

To Lord SUNDERLAND.

My Lord,

M

Lymericke, Sept. 22. 1686.

Y laft to your lordship was on the 12th inftant from Waterford: fince which time I have been at Cork, Youghall, Kinfale, and have visited all the ports in the province of Munfter; wherein there are several things of abfolute neceflity to be repaired, which will be of no great expence. I fhall quickly fend over a further account thereof. At Cork the major general's regiment is quartered for the prefent for the conveniency of feeing them all together: I faw them all drawn out, and exercife, which they perform as well as can be expected from men, who have been no longer in the fervice. Next week five companies of them are to march to Waterford; where they are to winter. night I came to this place; where colonel Hamilton is at prefent, and his whole regiment of dragoons. I have alfo feen them exercise, at which they are as adroit, as is poffible for new men to VOL. II.
