A. D. 1811: one year, and until others shall be chosen in their places; that if any vacancies shall happen among the said officers by death, resignation, or removal, such vacancies shall be filled for the remainder of the year in which they may happen by a special election for that purpose, to be held in the same manner as the annual elections are made, at such times and places as shall be provided for and determined by the by-laws of the said corporation; that John I. III. IV. And be it further enacted, That all elections and all meetings of the said corporation, shall be made and held in a place certain to be fixed and determined by the by-laws of the said corporation; and that at all such elections and meetings of the said corporation, so to be held as aforesaid, twenty-five members thereof, including the president, or in his absence the vicepresident, or in his absence the second vice-president, and in case of the absence of the officers aforesaid, a chairman shall be chosen to preside at such meeting, shall be considered as a quorum of the said corporation, and shall have full power to do and transact all the business thereof.

VIII. CHAP. CXIV.

An ACT to amend an act authorising Commissioners to lay a State Road from Canandaigua, by the head of Canesus lake, to the mouth of Olean river, passed the 5th day of April, 1810. Passed April 3d, 1811. HEREAS Valentine Brother, George Hornell, and Moses Van Campen, commissioners named in the said act, to lay out a public road, have refused and neglected to perform the the duties assigned them in and by the said act: Therefore,

I. BE it enacted by the people of the state of NewYork, represented in senate and assembly, That Mathew Warner, Hugh M'Nair, and Micah Brooks, or any two of them, be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to do and perform all the duties relative to the laying out of the said road assigned to the commissioners named in the said act hereby amended.

said act entitled "an act to divide the county Preamble. of Genessee into several counties and for other purposes," passed the 11th March, 1808, the courts of common pleas and of general sessions of the peace shall be held at such place in the county of Chatauque, as the supervisors shall direct, until the court house in said county shall be completed, and whereas the said supervisors have not designated such place: Therefore, I.
