CHAP. CX.

An ACT to revive the corporation of " the trustees of
the Methodist Episcopal Church in the city of Al-
bany."
Passed April 3d, 1811.
HEREAS it has been represented to the legis-
lature that the corporation of the "trustees of
the methodist episcopal church in the city of Albany"
is dissolved, by reason of an omission on the part of
the trustees thereof, to make a return of their property
for so long a period of time, that they cannot be re-in-
corporated under any existing law; and whereas it ap-
pears that the congregation of the said church is small
and destitute of funds: Therefore,

I. BE it enacted by the people of the state of NewYork, represented in senate and assembly, That the corporation of the methodist episcopal church in the city of Albany, be and the same is hereby revived by the name and style of "the trustees of the methodist episcopal church in the city of Albany," with the like privileges, powers and authority as are granted to religious corporations by the act entitled "an act to provide for the incorporation of religious societies."

11. And be it further enacted, That the persons who now act as trustees of the said church, shall be the first trustees of the said corporation, and shall continue in office until the next anniversary election which shall or may be held in pursuance of the above recited act; and that the said corporation shall be invested with the rights and subject to the responsibilities attached to the corporation of the aforesaid church, before its dissolution as aforesaid, in the same manner as if such dissolution had not happened.

CHAP. CXI.

An ACT for the relief of the representatives of Jeremiah Truesdell, deceased.

nior, hath presented a petition to the legislature praying to be enabled to sell the real estate, whereof the said Jeremiah Truesdell died seized, lying in the town of Hillsdale, containing about seventy acres, and of the value of about fifteen hundred dollars; and whereas it appears from the facts set forth in the petition that the sale of the said real estate will be beneficial to those who are interested in the same: Therefore,

I. BE it enacted by the people of the state of NewYork, represented in senate and Assembly, That the Truesdell said Abigail Truesdell, Samuel Truesdell and David appointed Bebee, junior, and the survivors or survivor of them, are hereby appointed trustees wih full power to them, the survivors or survivor of them, to grant, bargain and sell the said real estate, of which the said Jeremial Truesdell died seized as aforesaid, and of the same to make and execute good and sufficient deeds and conveyances in the law, to the purchaser or purchasers thereof.

II. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds of such sale shall be disposed of in such manner, for the benefit of those interested in said estate, as the chancellor of this state shall direct.

III. CHAP. CXII.

An ACT for raising money to complete the building
of the court-house and gaol in the county of Alle-
gany.

York, represented in Senate and Assembly, That Supervis the supervisors of the county of Allegany be, and are ised to raise hereby empowered and directed to raise and levy on the $900 by freeholders and inhabitants of the said county, a sum not exceeding nine hundred dollars, for the purpose of completing the court-house and gaol therein, with the additional sum of five cents on each dollar for collecting the same, and one cent on each dollar for treasurer's fees, which said sum shall be raised, levied and collected in the same manner as the contingent charges in said county are raised, levied and collected.

II. An ACT relative to the general society of Mechanics
and Tradesmen of the city of New-York.
Passed April 3d, 1811.

WH

HEREAS the society of mechanics and tradesmen of the city of New-York, by their memorial presented to this legislature, have set forth and represented, that the act passed the 14th March, 1792, by which said society were constituted a body corporate and politic, will, on the first Monday of April, which will be in the year of our Lord 1812, expire and cease by its own limitation. And whereas said society, by their memorial, have prayed for a renewal and extension of the term of their incorporation, and likewise to have the charter so amended as to enable them to conduct their affairs with prudence, safety and propriety: Therefore,

I. Be it enacted by the people of the state of NewYork, represented in Senate and Assembly, That John Society in- I. Labah, Jacob Lorillard, Peter Sharpe, John Slidell, corporated. And be it further enacted, That the officers of the corpothe said corporation shall be a president, vice-presi- ration to he dent, and a second vice-president, a treasurer, secre- nually. tary and collector, who shall hold their offices for one year, and shall be citizens of this state, and be elected the second Tuesday in January in every year, at such time of the day and at such place in the city of NewYork, as shall be fixed and ascertained by the by-laws of the said corporation; that all elections of the said officers, or any of them, shall be by ballot, and such person who shall have at any election the greatest number of votes given at such election as president, shall be the president; and in like manner the person who shall have the greatest number of votes as vice-president, shall be vice-president; and in like manner the person who shall have the greatest number of votes for second vice-president, shall be second vice-president; and in like manner the person who shall have the greatest number of votes as treasurer, shall be treasurer; and in like manner the person who shall have the greatest number of votes as secretary, shall be secretary; and in like manner the person who shall have the greatest number of votes for collector, shall be collector; and the said officers shall hold their respective offices for
