Diseases, desperate grown,

By desperate appliance are relieved.

Dull not device by coldness and delay.

Dangerous conceits are in their natures poisons,
Which at the first are scarce found to distaste;
But with a little act upon the blood,
Burn like the mines of sulphur.

W.R.S.

VERY man shift for all the rest, and let no

man care for himself;

for all is but fortune.

Ebbing men, indeed,

Most often did so near the bottom run,
By their own fear or sloth.

Experience is by industry achieved,
And perfected by the swift course of
time.

Every fault's condemned ere it be done.

Every lane's end, every shop, church, session, hanging, yields a careful man work.

Every good servant does not all commands;
No bond, but to do just ones.

Every one can master a grief but he that has it.

Every man should take his own.

Evils that take leave,

On their departure most of all shew evil.

Every subject's duty is the king's; but every subject's soul is his own.

Every cloud engenders not a storm.

Emulation hath a thousand sons,

That one by one pursue; if you give way,
Or edge aside from the direct forthright,
Like to an enter'd tide, they all rush by,
And leave you hindmost.

Every time

Serves for the matter that is then born in 't.
