I remember thinking what a waste of effort it was kicking it open, when it was
going to fall over anyway. I swear I didn't black out, but when I opened my eyes,
both me and the door were in the middle of the road yards away from the kitchen
and I couldn't remember how we got there. The funny thing was that I did not hear
a thing. I just saw the wall come apart. And the door fell on me. That's all. It was

even then, I knew a bit about fighting. I remember he had a bloody nose and
mouth, and all the little china whatsits in the hall and living-room had got broken. I
don't remember actually breaking them, but there was glass and china all over
