Deep Work is a book with a single message to communicate: deep work is valuable and necessary. The advice in this book is targeted at knowledge workers who want to produce valuable work that requires deep expertise in a certain area, regardless of what that area is. Newport's argument is that deep work is an effective way of producing high-quality results (whatever those results may be for you, the reader). He offers an array of strategies for accomplishing deep work, historical and psychological context for why it works and who has been successful with it in the past, and smartly avoids arguing *against* distraction and instead arguing *for* deep work.
Overall I felt the book made one point that is useful to knowledge workers today and did so well.
