That the Jockey Club should recommend that in races to which no public money is added there should be no condition requiring the winner to pay any sum to the Racefund or the expenses of a meeting.

At the same time it was resolved that Rule 34 of the Jockey Club, on payments to the Judge, should be repealed, it being understood that the difference in the Judge's remuneration at Newmarket should be made up from the funds of the Jockey Club, and that Mr Dorling, should be recommended to do the same at Epsom.

It was proposed by Mr Craven, and resolved, to add to the Rule of Racing No. 32, the following:

And should any such horse be discovered to have run and come in first, he shall be liable to be objected to at any time within six calendar months.

A General Meeting was held at Newmarket, on Wednesday, in the First Spring Meeting.

It was unanimously resolved that Rule 40 of the Jockey Club, on the subject of handicappers receiving presents, should be transferred to the Rules concerning Horse-racing in General.

Also, that the following words should be added to Rule 33 of the Jockey Club:

And if a Sweepstakes to which money is added by the Jockey Club is walked over for, only half the added money shall be paid.

A General Meeting was held at Newmarket, on Wednesday, in the July Meeting.

It was proposed by the Stewards, and unanimously resolved:

That the President, Vice-President, and three Stewards of the French Jockey Club for the time being shall be Honorary Members of the English Jockey Club.

Also,

That Count F. de Lagrange and M. Lupin be elected Honorary Members of the English Jockey Club.

General Meetings were held at Newmarket on Wednesday, in the First, and also in the Second October Meetings, when Ballots took place, but no other business was transacted.

A General Meeting was held at Newmarket, on Wednesday, in the Houghton Meeting.

It was unanimously resolved:

That on account of Easter falling so late in 1867, the Craven Meeting of that year should be brought forward a fortnight, and commence on Monday, April 8th.

It was resolved by a large majority to improve the Stand at the end of the Flat, by adding a room on the first floor with a roof on the present plan over it.
