About the author (2007)

Dr. Harihar Panda had his M.A. in first class with position from Utkal University in 1984. He obtained his M. Phil. (Medalist, 1986) and Ph.D. (1992) from Krukshetra University. He joined Orissa Educational Services as a Lecturer in History in 1990. He has Served in different Govt. colleges of Orissa for the last fifteen years. Dr. Panda is a prolific writer. He has authored twenty text books including History of Orissa, Indian Culture, History of England, Indian Society and Culture, Landmarks on Indian History (Vol.1), Ancient and Medieval India, Modern India, Indian History and History of the World. He has participated in a number of International and National Seminars, symposia and conferences. Nearly one hundred and fifty of his research articles have been published in various research books, journals, news papers and magazines. He has been falicitated by various organisations and colleges due to his erudition. He is also the member of many leading Historical Organisations of the Country like Indian History Congress, South Indian History Congress, Indian Art History Congress, Institute of Historical Studies and Orissa History Congress. At present he is serving as a Senior Lecturer in the P.G. Dept. of History in Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, Orissa.
