About the author (2003)

The leading modern historian of the Church of the Brethren, Dr. Donald Durnbaugh is a graduate of Manchester College, University of Michigan, and the University of Pennsylvania (Ph.D.). He was Professor of Church History at Bethany Theological Seminary (Church of the Brethren) from 1962 - 1988, and also taught at Juniata College. A former moderator of the Church of the Brethren, Durnbaugh serves as editor of 'The Brethren Encyclopedia' and as archivist at Juniata College in Huntington, Pennsylvania.
