THIS Order was inftituted at Mantua in the year 1618, and in 1619 it was received at Vienna; but though confirmed in 1624 by Pope Urban VIII. it foon fell into difufe. The enfign of it was a crofs of eight points, embroidered with blue filk and gold, on the left fide of the mantle; in the middle of it was the figure of the Virgin Mary with Christ on her left arm, and. a fceptre in her right hand, crowned with twelve stars furrounded with rays of the Sun, and a crefcent under her feet.
