Combined total for the two years (1918 and 1919) $55,018.46, said sum to be immediately available and be disbursed in accordance with the provisions of Article 6, Chapter 21, Session Laws 1909.

Emergency.

Section 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof, this Act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 143.

HOUSE BILL NO. 33.

Fred Dennis.

AN ACT authorizing the Governor to offer a reward for former Bank Commissioner, Fred Dennis, making an appropriation therefor, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

Reward-For Fred Dennis.

Section 1. The Governor is hereby authorized to offer a reward in the sum of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars for the capture and delivery of Fred Dennis, former Bank Commissioner of the State of Oklahoma, to the Sheriff of Okmulgee County, Oklahoma. Reward-Set Aside as Contingent Fund.

Section 2. The sum of Five Thousand ($5,000.00) Dollars, or so much thereof as is necessary, is set aside as a contingent fund to be used by the Governor for expenses in the matter of locating, capturing or delivering the said Fred Dennis to the Sheriff of Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, and prosecuting him in the proper courts of this state.

Appropriation.

Section 3. There is hereby appropriated out of any moneys not otherwise appropriated in the State Treasury, the sum of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of Sections One and Two of this Act.

Emergency.

Section 4. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, by reason whereof this Act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 144.

HOUSE BILL NO. 37.

County Officers.

AN ACT authorizing the county clerk, the county treasurer, the court clerk and the county assessor to appoint deputies in every county in the State of Oklahoma, having a population of not less than sixty-two thousand and not more than sixty-five thousand, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census. fixing the salary thereof, repealing all other acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

County Officers-May Appoint Deputies.

Section 1. That in all counties of the State of Oklahoma having a population of not less than Sixty-two (62,000) Thousand and not more than Sixty-five (65,000) Thousand, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census, the County Clerk, County Treas

urer and the Court Clerk are hereby authorized and empowered, by and with the consent of the Board of County Commissioners, to appoint the number of deputies necessary to carry on the work in said office and fixing the salaries of said deputies, as follows:

First Deputy at not more than $200.00 per month,
Second Deputy at not more than $175.00 per month,

Two additional deputies at not more than $150.00 each per month,
All other Deputies at not to exceed $110.00 each per month.

County Assessor-Deputies.

Section 2. That in all counties in the State of Oklahoma having a population of not less than Sixty-two (62,000) Thousand and not more than Sixty-five (65,000) Thousand, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census, the County Assessor is hereby authorized and empowered by and with the consent of the Board of County Commissioners, to appoint the number of deputies necessary to carry on the work in said office and fixing the salaries of said deputies, as follows:

First Deputy at not more than $180.00 per month,

Two additional Deputies at not more than $150.00 each per month.

All other Deputies at not to exceed $120.00 each per month.

Repeal.

Section 3. That all Acts or parts of Acts in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

Emergency.

Section 4. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby (sic) to exist, by reason whereof this Act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 145.

HOUSE BILL NO. 40.

Deputy Sheriffs.

AN ACT providing for three additional deputy sheriffs for Creek county, Oklahoma; fixing their salaries and increasing the salaries of the deputy sheriffs now provided for by law, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

Sheriff-Deputies.

Section 1. That the Sheriff of Creek County, Oklahoma, shall be authorized to appoint three deputy sheriffs in addition to those already allowed by Law, and fixing the salary of such deputy sheriffs in the sum of One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month, and increasing the salaries of the deputy sheriffs now provided by Law to the sum of One Hundred Fifty ($150.00) Dollars per month.

Emergency.

Section 2. It being immediately necessary for the preserva

tion of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof this Act shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 146.

HOUSE BILL NO. 49.

Predatory Animals.

AN ACT for the eradication of predatory animals; permitting county commissioners to coopereate with the Bureau of Biological Survey of the United States Department of Agriculture.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

Petition-Board of County Commissioners.

Section 1. That upon petition of ten resident land owners, the Board of County Commissioners of any County, is hereby authorized to co-operate with the Bureau of Biological Survey of the United States Department of Agriculture in the destruction of wolves, coyotes, bobcats, prairie dogs, ground squirrels, pocket gopners, jack rabbits, and rats and other predatory animals and rodents destructive to live stock, poultry and game and detrimental to crop and forage production.

Board of County Commissioners-Biological Survey.

Section 2. That it shall be the duty of the Board of County Commissioners of any county undertaking predatory animal or rodent extermination work under this Act to enter into a definite co-operative agreement with the said Bureau of Biological Survey, prescribing the manner, terms and conditions of such co-operation and the amounts which the County and Federal Goverment will respectively contribute thereto.

Supplies and Labor.

Section 3. That the Board of County Commissioners of any County undertaking predatory animal or rodent extermination work under this Act is authorized and empowered, when in its discretion it is deemed necessary, in co-operation with said Bureau of Biological Survey, to purchase and provide supplies and employ labor required for the proper prosecution of said predatory animal or rodent extermination work.

Hides and Furs.

Section 4. That all hides and furs from predatory animals taken by men employed and paid by any county as provided by this Act shall become the property of such County and shall be sold by the County Commissioners at the highest price obtainable and the money received therefor turned into the County Treasury.

Funds Tax.

Section 5. That for the purpose of providing funds for defraying expenses of the predatory animal and rodent extermination
