CHAPTER 128.

SENATE BILL NO. 391.

County Court Stenographer, Deputy Court Clerk.

AN ACT providing for the appointment of a stenographer for the County Court and a deputy court clerk, in all counties in the State of Oklahoma, having a population of not less than 15,850, and not more than 15,890, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

County Court Stenographer-Salary.

Section 1. That in all counties in the State of Oklahoma, having a population of not less than 15,850 and not more than 15,890, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census, the county judge, with the consent of the Board of County Commissioners, shall appoint a county stenographer, who shall receive a salary not to exceed One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, per month, and whose qualifications shall be the same as is required of the District Court Reporter. In addition to the above salary, said county stenographer shall receive all money collected by him for all case-mades and transcripts. Said county stenographer shall also be a deputy court clerk in and for his respective county, and when not otherwise engaged as county stenographer, shall act as deputy court clerk. Deputy Court Clerk-Salary.

Section 2. In all counties in this State having a population of not less than 15,850 and not more than 15,890, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census, the court clerk shall appoint one deputy, to be confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners, at a salary of Ninety ($90.00) Dollars, per month, and with the consent of the Board of County Commissioners, may, when the business of his office requires it, appoint an additional deputy,, whose salary shall not exceed Seventy-five ($75.00) Dollars, per month.

Emergency.

Section 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof this Act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 129.

SENATE BILL NO. 395.

Salaries of Supreme Court Commissioners.

AN ACT making an appropriation to pay the salaries of the Supreme Court Commissioners, Stenographers, and for communications, office supplies and equipment for the said Commissioners and the Clerk of the Supreme Court for the fiscal years ending June 30, 1923, 1924, and 1925, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

Appropriation.

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any monies in the Treasury of the State of Oklahoma, not otherwise appropriated, the amount hereinafter specified for the periods and for the purposes named for the salaries, clerical help, communications, office equipment and supplies, to-wit:

For the fiscal year ending June 30, 1923:

Salaries of 15 Commissioners. for three months_$17,750.00
Salaries of 15 Stenographers for three months
Communications

Provided that none of the salaries provided herein shall be paid until such commissioner or stenographer has entered upon such duties.

Emergency.

Section 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof this Act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 130.

SENATE BILL NO. 398.

Deputy County Assesors.

AN ACT providing for allowance of deputy hire for County Assessors in Counties having a population of not less than 33,400, and not more than 33,500, according to the last preceding Federal Decennial Census, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

County Assessors-Deputies.

Section 1. In every county in the State of Oklahoma, having a population of not less than 33,400, and not more than 33,500, according to the last Preceding Federal Decennial Census, the County Assessor shall be allowed to expend the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars, per annum, for deputy hire, and with the consent of the Board of County Commissioners, he may pay such salaries as he may fix, not to exceed in the total the above amount.

Emergency.

Section 2. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof this Act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.

CHAPTER 131.

SENATE BILL NO. 401.

Appropriation To Pay Deficiencies.

AN ACT making an appropriation to pay deficiencies as per vouchers and claims on file with the state auditor, and declaring an emergency.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :

Appropriations.

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of Thirtyeight Thousand, Nine Hundred Thirty-two ($38,932.91) Dollars and Ninety-one cents, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to pay deficiencies as per vouchers and claims on file with the State Auditor, said amount being itemized as follows: Provided, however, that before any of the claims or vouchers herein mentioned shall be paid, the State Board of Affairs, the head of the Department or Board of Control of the institution under which the specific claims herein mentioned were incurred, shall investigate and audit such claims and if found to be legitimate claims against the State endorse their approval thereon; otherwise such claims shall be disallowed.
