Proviso.

Sebastian Seybert, junior, two lots in the town of Berwick, Luzerne county, marked in the plan of said town, numbers twentythree and twenty-four That he also purchased of Michael Opp, a certain piece of ground situate in the borough of Easton, in the county of Northampton, being lot marked in the plan of said borough, number two hundred and forty-nine, and part of lot number, two hundred and forty-five, containing in front ninety-seven feet, and in depth two hundred and twenty feet, by deed dated December twenty-seven, one thousand eight hundred and nine, and that in consequence of his being an alien, his titles to the aforesaid lots are defective; Therefore,

SECT. I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the said Jacob C. Welper shall have and hold to himself, his heirs and assigns, two lots marked numbers twenty-three and twenty-four, situate in the town of Berwick, Luzerne county, and also the lot marked number two hundred and forty-nine, and part of lot marked number two hundred and forty-five, situate in the borough of Easton, Northampton county, containing in front ninety-seven feet, and in depth two hundred and twenty feet, in the same manner and for the same estate he would have been entitled thereto had he been a citizen of this commonwealth at the time of his purchase of the aforesaid lots; Provided always, That nothing herein contained shall be construed to bar or defeat any person or persons of any right, title or interest, which they may lawfully have, in or to the said lots of ground or any part or parts thereof.

CHAPTER L.

An ACT for the relief of William Glendy, Atcheson Mellon, Ernst Greese, John Foust Abraham Bodle and Duncan M‹Vicar, soldiers of the Revolution.

SECT. I. lars be granted to the said William Glendy, to be paid halfyearly during his life, to George Bruce of Beaver county, his executors or administrators, his or their lawful attorney, by the state treasurer out of any unappropriated money, to commence the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eleven; which annuity shall be expended by the said George Bruce, his executors or administrators, his or their lawful attorney, in providing clothing and diet for the said William Glendy, and it shall be, and hereby is made the duty of the said George Bruce, his executors or administrators, his or their lawful attorney, to make an annual statement to the orphans' court of Beaver county, on oath or affirmation, shewing the manner in which he or they have executed the trust reposed in him or them by this act ; and it shall be the duty of the clerk of said court to file said account without fee or reward.

SECT. II. SECT. III. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, 40 dollars granted That the sum of forty dollars be, and the same is hereby granted to Ernst Groese. to Ernst Greese, to be paid by the state treasurer to him or his order, immediately after the passing of this act, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

SECT. IV. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, To John Faust That the state treasurer be, and he is hereby authorized to pay 40 dollars gratuito John B. Gibson, his executor or executors, administrator or administrators, his or their lawful attorney, in providing clothing and diet for the said John Faust, and it shall be, and hereby is made the duty of the said John B. Gibson, his executor or executors, administrator or administrators, his or their lawful attorney, to make an annual statement to the orphans' court of Cumberland county, on oath or affirmation showing in what manner in which he or they have executed the trust reposed in him or them by this act, and it shall be the duty of the clerk of said orphans' court to file said account without fee or reward.

SFOT. V. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the state treasurer be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay to Robert M'Guffey of Westmoreland county, or his order, the sum of forty dollars, out of any unappropriated monies in the treasury, to be applied by him to the use of Abraham Bodle; and that an annuity of forty dollars be granted for the use of the said Abraham Bodle during life, to be paid by the state treasurer to the said Robert M'Guffey, of Westmoreland county, his executor or executors, administrator or administrators, his or their lawful attorney, to commence from the first day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eleven, and to be paid half-yearly to the said Robert M'Guffey his executor or executors, administrator or administrators, his or their lawful attorney; and said annuity shall be expended by the said Robert McGuffey, his executor or executors, administrator or administrators, or his or their lawful attorney, in providing clothing and diet for the said Abraham Bode; and it shall be the duty of the said Robert M.Guffey, his executor or executers, administrator or administrators, or his or their lawful attorney to make an annual return to the orphans' court of Westmoreland county on oath or affirmation, showing how and in what manner he or they have executed the trust in him or them confided by this act, and it shall be the duty of the said clerk of the orphans' court to file said return without fee or reward. SECT. VI. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the sum of forty dollars be, and the same is hereby granted to Duncan M'Vickar, to be paid by the state treasurer to him

or his order, immediately after the passing of this act, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

CHAPTER LI.

An ACT for the relief of Frederick Hake.

WHEREAS a warrant was granted to Jacob Hake on the Seventeenth September, one thousand seven hundred and sixtysix, for two hundred acres of land in Manchester township, in the county of York, and by an entry made in the books of the land-office it is stated that the land was situated in the manor of Springetsbury, and charged at the rate of sixty pounds per hundred acres; but it has since been found that the said land was not within the said manor, that lands not included therein were at that time charged at fifteen pounds ten shillings per hundred acres, and that the officers of the land-office have no authority to grant relief in this case; Therefore,

CHAPTER LI.

An ACT authorizing the purchase and distribution of a certain num ber of copies of Bache's Manual.

SECT. I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same. That the governor is hereby authorized and required to subscribe on behalf of this commonwealth for fifteen hundred copies of "The Manual of a Pennsylvania Justice of the peace," published by Richard Bache, junior; Provided, the price thereof shall not exceed one dollar and fifty cents for each copy, to be delivered into the secretary's office and to be paid for on delivery, on a warrant drawn on the treasurer of this commonwealth.

SECT. II.
