CHAPTER XXXIV.

An ACT for the relief of the Trustees of Youghiogeny Bridge in
Somerset county.

WHEREAS it appears that by an act of the legislature of the fourth of April, one thousand eight hundred and five, a sum of four hundred dollars was appropriated to aid the building of a bridge over the Youghiogeny river in Somerset county, which sum was to be drawn out of the treasury of Bedford county, out of arrearages of state taxes conceived to be due from said county; And whereas the trustees appointed to superintend the building of the bridge aforesaid proceeded to contract for the erection of said bridge, which bridge was completed, but it has since been ascertained that no taxes of the above description could be ever recovered from said county; And whereas, the aforesaid trustees were compelled to pay the full sum of four hundred dollars out of their own money in consequence of not receiving the sum above alluded to, for the relief of whom; Therefore,

SECT. I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State treasurer state treasurer is hereby authorized and required to pay to Jacob to pay to Jacob Harlzell, esquire, John Malach, James Tannihill and Richard others 400 dol Green, or to their order, the sum of four hundred dollars out of any unappropriated money in the treasury.

A SUPPLEMENT to the act, entitled « An act to encourage the killing of Squirrels and Crows in certain parts of this commonwealth."

SECT. I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the provi ing squirrels, &c sions of the act, entitled "An act to encourage the killing of squirrels and crows in the counties of Bedford, Washington, Westmoreland, Armstrong, Indiana, Fayette and Greene," passed the fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seven, be, and the same are hereby extended to the counties of Butler, Franklin, Somerset, Lycoming, Crawford, Erie, Mercer and Venango,

CHAPTER XXXVI.

An ACT authorizing Seneca Lukens to sell and convey a certain plantation therein named.

WHEREAS it has been represented to the legislature by Seneca Lukens, guardian of the minor children of Job Quinby late of Solebury township, in the county of Bucks, that a certain plantation bequeathed to the said minors by their grandfather Isaiah Quinby, situate in the township and county aforesaid, is in a ruinous situation, that the annual rent arising therefrom is insuffiicent to put it in tenantable repair, and that the interest of said minors would be promoted by the sale of said plantation; Therefore,

SECT. I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly Seneca Lukens met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Seneca Lukens, the aforesaid guardian, be, and he hereby is authorized at any time during the minority of the children of the said Job Quinby, that he may think proper,* sell by public sale, first giving notice in one of the newspapers printed in Trenton, state of New-Jersey, and in the "Correspondent," of Bucks county at least four weeks previous to the day of sale, and convey in fee-simple, for the best price he can obtain, on such terms and conditions as he shall think most advantageous, either for

cash or on credit, the plantation aforesaid, and that all contracts and agreements, deeds and conveyances, of or concerning the same to be made by the said Seneca Lukens, shall be as good and effectual in law to all intents and purposes, as if the same were to be made by the said minors after they severally attain the age of twenty-one years, and the proceeds of such sales shall Proceeds of sale by the said Seneca Lukens, (with the approbation of the orphans' on real security. court of Bucks county,) be made safe on good real security, for the benefit of the said minors respectively, in such proportions or shares as is directed by the last will and testament of the said Isaiah Quinby.
