CHAPTER LXXXII.

An ACT imposing certain duties upon the commissioners and treasurer of Luzerne county, and empowering county commissioners to administer oaths or affirmations.

SECT. II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That the county commissioners of the respective counties within this commonwealth, are hereby authorized and empowered to administer oaths or affirmations in all cases that relate to the duties of their offices.

CHAPTER LXXXIII.

An ACT relinquishing to Elizabeth Boise the right of this commonwealth to a certain escheated estate therein mentioned.

WHEREAS it appears to the legislature that John Boise, late of Lancaster county, died intestate, seized of a certain messuage and lot of ground situate in May-town in the county aforesaid, leaving a widow, Elizabeth Boise, but no issue nor other known kindred, and that the same has escheated to the commonwealth, subject to the life estate therein of the said Elizabeth who is now old, infirm and in indigent circumstances; And whereas, it further appears that the yearly profits of the said messuage and lot of ground are insufficient for her comfortable maintenance; Therefore,

SECT. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That all the right, title and interest, vested in the commonwealth commonwealth in and to said messuage and lot of ground, by reason of such estate released to escheat, be, and the same hereby is, released to the said Elizabeth Boise, her heirs and assigns; Provided always, That nothing in this act contained shall in any wise prejudice the rights of any individual, or be construed to divest or impair any other title to the said messuage and lot of ground, than that which

WHEREAS William Henry Kilbuck, a native American, of the Delaware tribe, in the time of the revolutionary war rendered essential services to the United States, some of which were particularly advantageous to Pennsylvania; Therefore,

Heckewelder, the sum of forty dollars immediately: And the further sum of forty dollars annually during the life of William Henry Kilbuck, to be by him the said John, transmitted to him the said William, clear of all charges, and that at all times within three months after the receipt thereof.
