SECT. II. An ACT to confirm the proceedings of Abraham Mulford and Abisha Woodward, late Sheriffs of Wayne county, and for other purposes.

SECT. I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That all the official acts of Abraham Mulford and Abisha Woodward, late high sheriffs of Wayne county, be and the same are hereby confirmed and declared to be valid and effectual in the same manner as if the said Abraham Mulford and Abisha Woodward and their sureties had entered into recognizances agreeably to an act of assembly, passed the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and three.

SECT. II. And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid, That all deeds or conveyances of land heretofore recorded in the proper office within the county of Wayne, where the title to land, in such conveyances mentioned was derived from this state or the late proprietaries thereof, before the fourth of July, one thousand seven hundred and seventy-six, shall be effectual to which title was pass the interest of the grantor in and to the lands in such deed or conveyance mentioned, although such conveyance did not expressly refer to and recite the substance of the warrant, survey, patent or title under which the same was derived from this state, or the late proprietaries thereof, before the said fourth day of July, one thousand seven hundred and seventy-six.

CHAPTER LXXIX.

An ACT remunerating William Cecil for a lot of ground therein mentioned.

WHEREAS it appears that William Cecil, of the borough of Pittsburgh, is one of the legal representatives of William Cecil, formerly of Great Britain, who was seized of a lot number sixty in Philadelphia, on the south-east corner of Sassafras or Race and Eighth streets, on the Delaware front of the city, which lot was sold by order of the supreme executive council of this state, and the proceeds of said sale paid into the state treasury; And whereas, it appears that

an inquisition was had on application to the supreme court, by Benjamin Davis, who was legally entitled to two fifths of said lot, by which inquisition the value of the same was ascertained, and as said William Cecil, of Pittsburgh, has received no remuneration for one fifth part of said lot which it appears justly belongs to him; Therefore,

CHAPTER LXXX.

An ACT to authorize Ichabod Buck and William Buck, their heirs and assigns, to erect and maintain a wing-dam on the north branch of the Susquehanna river, in the county of Luzerne.

SECT. I. BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Ichabod Buck and William Buck, their heirs and assigns, be, and they are hereby authorized to erect and maintain a wing-dam, three feet high at low water mark, on the north branch of the river of Susquehanna, adjoining their own land in the township of Willingborough, and county of Luzerne, and to extend the dam across that part of the said north branch of the Susquehanna which runs between the northern shore thereof and Bucks' island, so called, near the centre of said island; Provided, Proviso. That the said Ichabod Buck and William Buck, their heirs or assigns, in erecting the said dam, or keeping the same in repair, or in drawing off the water, shall not thereby in any degree injure or obstruct the navigation of the said river, or prevent the fish from passing up the same; And provided also, That the said Ichabod Buck and William Buck, their heirs or assigns, shall not thereby interfere with any private property on the said river.

CHAPTER LXXXI.

An ACT confirming the title of Christopher Faatz, Jacob Heintz, Christian Heintz, Christopher Heintz, Adam Greiner and Nicholas Griener, aliens, to certain lands therein mentioned, and to enable them to hold other lands,

WHEREAS it appears to the legislature that Christopher Faatz, Jacob Heintz, Christopher Heintz, Christian Heintz, Adam Greiner and Nicholas Greiner, natives of Saxony in Germany, emigrated to the state of Pennsylvania several years ago, and have severally declared their intentions. of becoming citizens of the United States; that about three years ago they erected a glass manufactory in the township of Upper Smithfield, in the county of Wayne; and that they acquired the equitable title and received four several deeds of conveyance in fee-simple, for several tracts of land: And whereas, it has been farther stated, that if the title of the aforesaid tracts of land are perfected, and they allowed to purchase a reasonable quantity of other lands for the erection of another glass manufactory thereon, and for fuel for the same, that they are desirous and intend so to do, for the manufacturing of window and other glass; Therefore,
