der feeling which bears the soul away, the Episcopal Liturgy is no more to that which a skilful and devout mind may work out of the Bible, than the dimmest star to the unclouded sun of a summer's noon.

Such are the evils which we have aimed to avoid, and the advantages we have endeavoured to secure in this BIBLICAL LITURGY. Although many imperfections will be discovered by critics in the execution of our planwhich we shall be happy to have pointed out in order to rectify*-it is no hasty performance; it has engaged much of our attention for years, and involved considerable labour. Numerous are the Ministers we have at different times consulted; and we have not met with one who has not approved our plan, and encouraged us in our efforts.

P.S.-We consider the book, whilst mainly intended for church use, adapted for three other important purposes:-1st, As a help to the Biblical Student who desires to know what God's Word pronounces on theological subjects. 2nd, As a help to Sabbath School teachers and preachers, in aiding them both to prepare suitable instruction, and to stimulate and guide their devotions as the leaders of Public Worship. 3rd, As a help to Family Worship. We cannot conceive of anything more adapted to make domestic worship a thing of real interest, spirit, meaning, and power, than the proper reading of these Services; the head of the family taking the part of the minister, and the other members the responsory part of the congregation.
