About the author (2010)

Val Porter has written several books on breeds of livestock worldwide (cattle, pigs and goats) and on caring for cows in particular. She has been a member of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust for many years and was co-author of the Trust's history, Saving the Breeds. Jeremy Hopley is one of Britain's best-known known lifestyle, still life, food, interiors, and travel photographers. In the past he has worked with numerous authors and chefs including Ken Hom and James Martin. Andrew Perris has tackled a wide range of challenging commissions during the 20 years he has worked as a photographer. His numerous corporate and advertising clients include Virgin, Sainsbury’s, Parker Pens, P&O Ferries and Royal Bank of Scotland.
