This objection was proved, but owing to the Judge having left his box before the third horse came in, the Stewards declared the race null and void, and ordered it to be run over again after the Infantry Stakes. In this race The Vet fell, broke his neck, and was killed. For the second race only Kite and Seven-and-a-Half started; the former won; Seven-and-a-Half refused, and did not pass the post.
