FRIDAY, 3 o'clock, P. M. The Grand Lodge met pursuant to adjournment: Present, the Officers and a due representation. Grand Treasurer Warner, presented two bills, which were on motion, ordered to be paid. Rep. Glazier, of Delaware, moved that the special committee to whom was referred the resolution of the Grand Lodge of Maryland, be discharged, which was agreed to. Rep. Neilson, of Maryland, then submitted the following amendments to the Constitution of this body, which were referred to the next Annual Communication. That the Constitution of the Grand Lodge of the United States, I. O. O. F., be so altered as that no Past Grand Master can be eligible for the office of Grand Sire or Deputy Grand Sire of the Grand Lodge of the United States, unless he be at the time of his nomination, election and installation into office, a regular contributing member of a legally chartered Encampment of Patriarchs. That no Representative shall be returned to this Grand Lodge, from a state Grand Lodge, unless he have the same qualification for office as the M. W. Grand Sire and Deputy Grand Sire;-Provided, there is a legally chartered Encampment of Patriarchs in said state. Rep. Glazier, of Delaware, presented a report from the special committee, to whom had been referred the subject of compensating the Travelling Agent for his services rendered, reciting the resolution under which the appointment was made; which having been read, was, on motion, laid on the table. Rep. Ridgely, of Ohio, offered the following: Resolved, That this Grand Lodge appropriate five hundred dollars to Past Grand Sire Wildey, in addition to the sum now allowed him by the Grand Lodge, for his services as Travelling Agent, for the past year. Two bills.—It is impossible to say what bills are here alluded to, or for what amount they were passed. Rep. Pearce, of Pennsylvania, called for the yeas and nays, which were as follows: YEAS-Rep's Neilson, 2 votes; Glazier, Ridgely, McCulley and Sanderson-6. NAYS-Rep's Kennedy, Pearce, 2 votes; Borrows, Towers and P. G. Sire Gettys-6. There being an equality of votes, the Grand Sire gave the casting vote in the affirmative. The resolution was therefore adopted. Rep. Neilson, of Maryland, from the special committee to whom was referred the credentials of the Proxy Representative of Mississippi, reports, &c., presented the following report. To the R. W. Grand Lodge of the United States: The special committee to whom was referred the report of the Grand Lodge of the state of Mississippi, and the certificate of P. G. Sire Thomas Wildey, as the regularly appointed Proxy of said Grand Lodge, would respectfully report the following resolution. ROBERT NEILSON, Chairman. Resolved, That the report of the Grand Lodge of Mississippi, located at the city of Natchez, be received by this Grand Lodge, and that P. G. Sire Thomas Wildey, be received as the regularly appointed Proxy Representative for the ensuing year. On motion, the report was accepted, and the resolution adopted. Rep. Neilson, of Maryland, from the special committee to whom was referred the report of Wildey Encampment, No. 1, Mississippi, presented the following report, which was accepted. To the R. W. Grand Lodge of the United States: The special committee to whom was referred the report of Wildey Encampment, No. 1, Natchez, Mississippi, would beg leave respectfully to report: That they have examined the same, and find it in accordance with the requisitions of the Constitution of this Grand Lodge, and would ask that the report be received and the committee discharged. ROBERT NEILSON, Chairman. Rep. Pearce, of Pennsylvania, from the Committee of Finance, reported the bill of P. G. Sire Wildey, which was ordered to be paid. Rep. Pearce, of Pennsylvania, from the Committee of Finance, presented the following report, which was accepted. To the R. W. Grand Lodge of the United States: The Committee of Finance, to whom was referred the accounts of the Grand Secretary, Grand Treasurer, and Travelling Agent, respectfully report: That in examining the accounts of the Grand Lodge, they find it has not been the custom heretofore to keep the accounts with its subordinates regularly posted up; and at the present time they are in such condition that your committee are unable to report the balances due by each to the Grand Lodge. Your Committee in examining the accounts of the Grand Treasurer, have found that they were continued open after the examination of the committee of Finance, in October, 1837, and additions made by debit and credit so as to alter the balance in the Treasury, and thereby make a discrepancy between the said report and the published statement of the Grand Treasurer. It is hoped that hereafter the Treasury statement be published in the same condition it is reported to be in by the committee, and that receipts and expenditures after the close of the account, be carried in the account of the succeeding year. KENNEDY, Rep. Neilson, of Maryland, presented a bill from I. P. Cook, for binding, which was ordered to be paid. Rep. Ridgely, of Ohio, moved that the Grand Secretary be instructed to have the printed proceedings out in the space of thirty days from this date, which motion prevailed. Rep. Pearce, of Pennsylvania, offered the following, which was adopted: Resolved, That the Grand Lodge continue to the Travelling Agent the powers contained in his commission, until he shall have completed his visitation, or until the next Annual Communication, Provided, that such continuation shall not be attended with any additional expense to the Grand Lodge of the United States. Rep. Ridgely, of Ohio, called for the vote by states, which was as follows: YEAS-Rep's Kennedy, Pearce, 2 votes; McCulley, Towers and P. G. Sire Gettys-6. NAYS-Rep's Borrows and Ridgely-2. The Grand Sire appointed as the committee to proceed to Albany, New York, P. G. Sire Gettys; and Rep's Pearce, of Pennsylvania, and McCulley, of New Jersey. Grand Secretary Neilson tendered his resignation as Grand Secretary, which was accepted. Whereupon, The Grand Sire appointed W. D. G. M. William G. Cook, of Maryland, Grand Secretary, until the next Annual Communication, in place of Robert Neilson, resigned. On motion, of Rep.
