Grand Lodge of the United States: The Committee of Finance beg leave respectfully to report: That they have examined the books of the Grand Secretary, and find that he has regularly credited the Grand Lodges, Encampments and subordinate Lodges with the amount of dues and per centage received by him, since the last Annual Communication, amounting to eight hundred and eighty-nine dollars, thirty-five and a half cents, (8889 354) including a balance of fifty-two dollars and fifty-two cents, received from late Grand Treasurer Mowatt. RIDGELY, On motion, the report was accepted and the bills ordered to be paid. P. G. Andrew E. Warner, G. Treasurer elect, was then introduced and duly installed as Grand Treasurer of the Grand Lodge of the United States, to serve the residue of the term. G. Secretary Neilson, from the Committee of Correspondence, presented the following report. To the R. W. Grand Lodge of the United States: The Committee of Correspondence to whom was referred the Constitutions and By-Laws of subordinates to this Grand Lodge, presented at the present Communication, beg leave respectfully to report, that they have examined the Constitution of "Wildey Encampment of Patriarchs, No. 1, of Ohio," and find it correct, with the exception of having left out the initials of the Order, "I. O. O. F." at the end of the title; the By-Laws of "Virginius Lodge, No. 3, I. O. O. F., Wheeling, Va.;" Constitution and By-Laws of Abram's Encampment of Patriarchs, No. 1, I. O. of O. F., Wheeling, Va.;" the Constitution and By-Laws of " New Albany Lodge, No. 1, I. O. O. F., New Albany, Indiana" Constitution of "Washington Lodge, No. 3, I. O. O, F., Covington, Kentucky;" the Constitution and By-Laws of "Lorraine Lodge, No. 4, I. O. O. F., Louisville, Kentucky;" and find them correct. They would therefore offer the following resolutions. Resolved, That the officers and patriarchs of Wildey Encampment of Patriarchs, No. 1, of Ohio, be directed to add the initials of the Order, "I. O. O. F.," to the title of their Constitution, and on compliance herewith, the same stands approved by this Grand Lodge. Resolved, That the Constitutions of Virginius Lodge, No. 3, of Wheeling, Va.; Abram's Encampment, No. 1, of Wheeling, Va.; New Albany Lodge, No. 1, New Albany, Indiana; Washington Lodge, No. 3, Covington, Ky., and Lorraine Lodge, No. 4, Louisville, Ky., be and the same are hereby approved and confirmed by this Grand Lodge. On motion, the report was accepted, and the resolutions adopted. The Grand Secretary, under the resolution passed at the last Annual Communication of this Grand Lodge, requiring him "to have prepared a full and complete statement of the account of each lodge with this Grand Lodge, from the time of charter granted to this time, and submit the same to the Grand Lodge at its next meeting," reported that he had complied with the requisition so far as he was enabled from the materials in his possession, but owing to the absence of the Grand Treasurer's books, he had been unable to bring up the accounts of the several Grand and Subordinate Lodges and Encampments, to the time specified. On motion, the report was re-committed, with instructions to have the accounts continued to the close of the present Communication, and to be printed with the proceedings. Rep. Gettys, of District of Columbia, moved that sixty dollars be appropriated to G. Secretary Neilson, as a compensation for his services during the past year, which was concurred in. On motion, it was Resolved, That brother P. G. Henry Wolford, Representative of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, be authorized to receive all moneys now in the hands of P. G. Samuel L. Miller, of Alton, Illinois, which may have been received by him for charters placed in his charge, by the Grand Secretary, and forward the same to the Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of the United States. Rep. Gettys, of District of Columbia, moved that Rep. Wolford, of Kentucky, be authorized to receive the money for the charter of Travellers' Rest Lodge, No. 1, of St. Louis, Missouri, together with the amount of per centage that may be due this Grand Lodge, and forward the same as early as practicable to the Grand Secretary, which was concurred in. Rep. Gettys, of District of Columbia, moved that fifty charters for subordinate Encampments be printed for the use of this Grand Lodge, which was adopted. Rep. Wolford, of Kentucky, offered the following resolution, which was adopted. Resolved, That during the recess of the Grand Lodge of the United States, the Grand Sire, D. Grand Sire and Grand Secretary, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to grant charters to subordinate lodges. P. G. Sire Wildey moved that when the Grand Lodge adjourns it shall be until the third Monday in May, 1837, which motion prevailed. On motion, the Grand Lodge adjourned. ROBERT NEILSON, Grand Secretary. G. M. Leise, as Representative of New York; P. G. M. Sanderson, as Proxy Representative of Kentucky, and P. G. Isaac Hefley, as Representative of Ohio, and beg leave to reportthat the certificates of the Representatives of Ohio and Kentucky, are correct; and that of the brother from New York having been decided as irregular, at the last Annual Session of the Grand Lodge of the United States, they ask respectfully to be discharged from the further consideration of that certificate. Ridgely, of Maryland, moved the suspension of further reading, which was concurred in. The Chair appointed Rep. Hefley, of Ohio, on the Committee on Petitions, in place of Rep. Zeitz, of New Jersey, who was absent. Rep. Ridgely, of Maryland, presented the following order, which was read and concurred in. Ordered, That the Grand Secretary deliver to the Committee of Correspondence, all letters and documents which he has received touching the interest of the Order in New York, or the integrity of this body, whether addressed to him officially, or individually-provided, in his opinion, he will not be required to violate any injunction of secrecy, or rule of honor, in furnishing any letters addressed to him reflecting upon the integrity of this body. to enter upon Rep. Ridgely, of Maryland, moved that the Grand Secretary be required the journal his reply to the above, which was concurred in. The Chair appointed Rep. Sanderson, of Kentucky, on the Committee of Finance. The Chair appointed Rep. Hefley, of Ohio, on the Committee on Returns and Reports. The Chair appointed Rep. Gettys, of District of Columbia, on the Committee on Deferred Business. The D. Grand Sire made a verbal report to the Grand Lodge, that no business had been transacted by him since the last Session, except as a member of the committee on the business of the Order in New York, which would be presented at the proper time. Rep. Sanderson, of Kentucky, moved that when the Grand Lodge adjourns, it adjourns until to-morrow morning at nine o'clock, which was concurred in. Rep. Ridgely, of Maryland, moved a re-consideration of the above vote, which was concurred in. On motion, the Grand Lodge adjourned to meet at eight o'clock, this evening. TUESDAY, 8 o'clock, P. M. The Grand Lodge met pursuant to adjournment: Present, the same Officers and Representatives as in the afternoon. The Grand Lodge was regularly opened for the transaction of business. Rep. Lucas, of Louisiana, appeared and took his seat. Rep. Gettys, of District of Columbia, from the special committee to settle the differences existing in the Order in the state of New York, presented a report. Rep. Ridgely, of Maryland, moved that the report be laid on the table, which was concurred in, The Grand Secretary presented a communication from the Grand Lodge of Ohio, requesting the past official degrees to be conferred upon Rep. Hefley, he having filled the several offices entitling him to them. Whereupon, on motion of Rep. Lucas, of Louisiana, P. G. Sire Wildey was authorized to give the necessary instructions. The Grand Secretary presented petitions from the requisite number of brethren, praying for charters for lodges for which dispensations were issued during the recess of the Grand Lodge, and the lodges instituted, viz: Madison Lodge, No. 6, to be located at Winchester; Union Lodge, No. 7, to be located at Richmond; and Monroe Lodge, No. 8, to be located at Petersburgh, Virginia. Also, Alabama Lodge No. 1, to be located at Mobile, Alabama; and Wildey Lodge, No. 2, to be located at St. Louis, Missouri.
