An Act for granting to Her Majesty certain sums of money required for defraying the expenses of Civil Government for the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy, for making good certain sums expended for the Public Service in the years one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight and one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine, and for other purposes. [Assented to 24th December, 1869.] MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN: HEREAS it appears by a Message from His Excellency Preamble. the Honourable William Pearce Howland, C.B., Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of Ontario, and the Estimates accompanying the same, that the sums hereinafter in the schedules A, B and C to this Act mentioned, are required to defray certain expenses of the Civil Government of this Province, and of the public service thereof, and for other purposes, for the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy, and to make good certain expenditures in the years one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight and one thousand eight hundred and sixty-nine; May it therefore please your Majesty that it be enacted, and it is hereby enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, as follows: of Con. 1.
