PREFACE.

In the classification and arrangement of the matter covered

by this digest, the editor has conformed as nearly to the plan adopted in the main digest and the list supplement as the

nature of the material would permit.

The citations are included in the same alphabetical head with

the cases reported and digested. This plan was adopted in the first supplement and is followed here, as it is regarded as the most convenient one for the practitioner.
