Use of Arms, and to the Practice of v ery
Erolutions and Exercise.

[11th December, 22; WHEREAS in some parts of the united Kingdom, men clandestinely and unlawfally assessbled, kass practised military training and exercise. 19 mue great terror and alarm of his majesty's percare and loyal subjects, and the imminent danger of the public peace: be it therefore enacted by the Zing's most excellent majesty, by and with the carise and consent of the lords spiritual and sezonal, and commons, in this present periament 2 sembled, and by the authority of the same. That Keeing se all meetings and assemblies of persons for the years purpose of training or drilling themselves, a being trained or drilled, to the use of arms, on for the purpose of practising military exercise, re- und ments, or evolutions, without any lawful authority from his majesty, or the lieutenant or two jus. tices of the peace of any county of riding or of any stewartry, by commission or otherwise, for so doing, shall be and the same are hereby pro
