certainly bring its due reproof. Rather let us dwell on the probability, that women of superior mental endowments may err on the other side. While endeavouring modestly to veil their own capabilities, they may hide from their eyes solemn responsibilities, and while shunning imaginary danger, neglect positive duty.

The echoes of past years, and the voice of the present hour together call on the handmaids of the Lord to redouble their diligence in his service. Not in vain is the privilege so freely afforded to the daughters of Eve, to employ their energies, and expand their every faculty. The light which shines so wide and high, filling the mind and heart of the lowliest with knowledge and hope, as noon's full glory fills the small flower-cup in the valley,--this light marks the hour of the day, the shadows are beginning to lengthen, and remind us of Time's setting sun!

The blood of Christ purchased for that ransomed spirit the full glories of the church triumphant.

The christian mother's most effective agency is prayer" praying always with all prayer-and watching thereunto with thanksgiving." Every instance of providential care should be promptly and thankfully acknowledged; dependence and gra
