and assembly, do enact as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3. Immediately after the passage of this common coun. act the common council sball elect an overseer of the cleanually to poor, who sball hold his office until the next annual election of city officers; and thereafter, and at each annual election of city officers, the common council shall elect with other officers, an overseer of the poor,
who shall bold his office for one year, subject to removal by the council.
