Chestnut street.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to extend its tracks.

The mayor and common council of the city of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Cimpany is hereby authorized to extend its tracks on National avenue from Sixth avenue to the city limits, in one year.

Section 2. The tracks hereby authorized shall be constructed, maintained and operated upon the same terms and conditions as are provided in respect to the tracks of the company in and by an ordinance passed May 29, 1865, authorizing the construction of certain horse railways, so far as the same are applicable.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to extend its track.

The mayor and common council of the city of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Company is hereby authorized to extend its railway by a single or a double track, with all necessary switches and turn-tables, in and along Chestnut street, from the crossing of Chestnut and Third streets, in the Second ward, to the city limits, and also in and along any extension of Chestnut street that may be hereafter made, westward to the city limits, as they may be hereafter established. The track and tracks hereby authorized shall be constructed, kept, maintained, used and operated, in the manner and upon the terms and conditions, which are now provided by the ordinances of the city, in reference to other tracks laid by said company, provided, however, that it shall be the duty of said company to keep the streets within the rails, and for at least one foot along the outside of the rails, at all times, in good repair and condition, in accordance with whatever order or regulation may be made, adopted or passed in respect thereto, by the common council or by the board of public works, and provided, further, that the line hereby authorized shall be operated and run, in con

nection with the line of said company on Railroad street, or the line on National avenue, or with both, and only one fare shall be charged to any passenger for a single continuous trip over the entire line so operated in connection, and that said company shall also transfer from, or to a car, which is run on the line hereby authorized, any passenger who shall pay one fare and wishes to be transferred to or from a car which is running on any other line operated by said company, which shall be met or passed by such first named car, and such passenger may lawfully ride to the end of the route of the car to which such transfer is made, without the payment of any additional fare.

Section 2. The said company shall complete the laying of track, and the construction of the road, ready to be operated as a street railway, from the crossing of Chestnut and Third streets, in the Second ward, westward to Twentieth street, on or about the first day of Septmber, A. D., 1882, and the remainder from Twentieth street to the city limits within one year after the date of the passage of this ordinance, and, in case of the removal of the city limits, and the extension of Chestnut street westward, the said company shall build and complete such road on such extension to the city limits, within one year after said street is so extended, and in case of the failure of the said company to so build and complete such road or any part within the period hereby fixed for its completion, all rights and privileges under this ordinance shall cease and be forfeited by said company, provided, however, that if said company shall be hindered or delayed in any part of the work by an order or injunction of any court, or by the tearing up of any street, or any part of it, for the purpose of constructing sewers, laying water pipes, or for any other purpose authorized by the city, the time of the delay so caused shall not be reckoned as a part of the time to which the company is hereby limited for the completion of the part of the road so hindered.

Section 3. The rights and privileges of the said company to maintain and operate its street railway on Chestnut street, under the provisions of this ordinance, shall continue and remain in force for the full time of fifty years from July 1, 1874, being the same period which is fixed for other lines of road of said company, by ordinance passed December 28, 1874, and for the Cream City Railway Company by ordinance passed June 8, 1874.

Walnut street.

Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to extend its track on Walnut street.

The mayor and common council of the city of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Company is hereby authorized to extend its railway by a double track, with all necessary switches and turn-tables, in and along Walnut street, from the center of Seventh street to the center of Third street. The tracks hereby authorized shall be constructed, kept, maintained, used and operated in the manner and upon the terms and conditions which are now provided by the ordinances of the city in reference to other tracks of said company; provided, also, that it shall be the duty of said company to keep the track within the rails, and for at least one foot along the outside thereof at all times in good order and repair.

Section 2. The said company shall complete the work of so extending its track within six months after the passage of this ordinance, and if Walnut street be paved before that time the track shall be laid at the time the street is paved, and in that case the company shall furnish the labor in paving between the rails and one foot along the outside thereof, the materials for said work being furnished to the company free of costs.

Third street.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to extend its track on Third street.

The mayor and common council of the city of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Company is hereby authorized to extend its railway by a single or double track, with all necessary switches and turn-tables, in and along Third street from its present terminus at the

intersection of Lee street to a point on Third street, opposite the grounds known as the "Shooting Park," between Chambers and Burleigh streets.

Section 2. The extension hereby authorized shall be completed within one year from the passage of this ordìnance, and the tracks thereof shall be constructed, maintained, kept, used and operated in the manner and upon the terms and conditions which are now provided by the ordinances of the city in reference to other tracks laid by said company; provided, however, that it shall be the duty of said company to keep the track within the rails, and for at least one foot along the outside thereof, at all times in good order and repair.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to
extend its track in the Eighth and Eleventh wards.
The mayor and common council of the city of Milwau-
kee, do ordain as follows:

Eleventh and

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Company is hereby authorized to extend its railway by a double track, Fourth avenues. with all the necessary switches and turn-tables, from the intersection of Eleventh avenue and National avenue, southerly along the center of Eleventh avenue to its junction with Muskego avenue; also to extend its track from the north side of Mitchell street southerly along Fourth avenue to its junction with Windlake avenue.

Section 2. The said company shall complete the work of extending its track, as above, within six months from the passage of this ordinance.

Section 3. The track hereby authorized shall be constructed, kept, maintained, used and operated in the manner and under the conditions which are now provided by the ordinances of the city, in reference to the other tracks of said company. That portion of the street occupied by the track and one foot outside of the rails must be macadamized and be kept in good order and repair by said railway company.

Wright street.

AN ORDINACE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to extend its track.

The mayor and common council of the city of Milwaukee, do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Company is hereby authorized to extend its railway by a single or double track with all necessary switches and turn tables from the intersection of Eighth and Wright streets, thence westwardly on Wright street to a point between Eleventh and Twelfth streets.

Section 2. The track hereby authorized shall be constructed, kept, maintained, used and operated in the manner and upon the terms and conditions which are now provided by the ordinances of the city in reference to other tracks laid by said company; and the company shall complete the work of laying the track hereby authorized within six months after the passage of this ordinance. Passed January 5, 1885.

Third and Sycamore streets.

AN ORDINANCE

To authorize the Milwaukee City Railway Company to extend its track.

The mayor and common council of the city of Milwaukee, do ordain as follows:

Section 1. The Milwaukee City Railway Company is hereby authorized to extend its railway by a single or double track with all necessary switches and turn tables, from the track at the junction of West Water and Third streets, south along the center of Third street to the center of Sycamore street; thence along the center of Sycamore street to connect with the track at the crossing of Sycamore and West Water streets. The track and tracks hereby authorized shall be constructed, kept, maintained, used and operated in the manner and upon the terms and conditions which are now provided by the ordinances of the city, in reference to other tracks of said company; and it shall be the duty of said company to keep the track, within the rails and one foot along the outside thereof, at all times in good order and repair.
